New Everton Stadium

Hate to kill the fun before its started, but I find it really hard to see a waterfront stadium coming in to fruition. The amount of bureaucracy that already surrounds the North docks area, with the UNESCO/Council/Peel/Heritage Preservation tug of war going on, it would be almost impossible to feasibly draw up plans for the area without significant friction. Typically, land surrounding a major port is earmarked for economic investment in trade etc. as it is a limited resource in the long-term future of the city, so any suggestion of a stadium and the required transport infrastructure around it seems far fetched, especially in Joe's 3 year time frame.

As a blue my heart would love to see our new stadium on the waterfront skyline, but my head doesn't see it happening.
Back down to earth.

In theory, it'd be absolutely brilliant, though I think it would be a massive logistical challenge. It would take some very creative design and probably a purchase of further surrounding land (if possible) for parking, fire safety regulations etc.

I'd imagine it would have its own dedicated landing stage for a cross-Mersey ferry etc.

To give an idea, here is Old Trafford on that plot, to demonstrate how much of a squeeze a new stadium with a larger footprint would be:

Anyone who's ever wandered around Canary Wharf will see how visually appealing it is when the buildings and the water fit together like a jigsaw. That site would be perfect, put some bars on that adjoining site, walkways across it all, it'd be amazing

I'm sure you have a point. We just don't know how determined or how much Moshiri is, yet. Money talks. Peel have been talking the area up for a decade. Bugger all has happened. Let's get round the table with them and see what gives.
Different ball game now mate.
Moshiri's first statement was about Stadium.
My thoughts is Guy with a plan, money & acumen to back it up......This WILL happen

Well Peel built Media City with a long term committment from BBC so would not be surprised if they made it happen. I know they have a bit of a reputation but they are a bold company who are investing massively in the North West for the long term. (No I do not work for them)

Difference is that's Salford, not a UNESCO World Heritage Site...

Not the entirety of it, but there is a buffer zone to the North where Peel met their resistance
I dont understand the rules with this one. Can see why buildings may be preserved but that has not prevented lots of new build along the waterfront. I am not informed enough to offer an argument.

They mention the new stadium at the bottom of this article

If things are moving on the field, there are also changes afoot off it. The impact of Farhad Moshiri’s investment is starting to be felt, not only with the dismissal of Roberto Martínez but the abandonment of proposed stadium plans at Walton Hall Park, near Goodison.

Billionaire Farhad Moshiri has big plans for the club
Prior to Moshiri’s move on to the boardroom, Everton’s lack of funds made the pursuit of public cash in partnership with a Liverpool City Council scheme the only viable stadium option. Now the club are looking to go it alone, albeit in discussions with planners about a viable site in the city.
