New Everton Stadium

The Waterfront would be absolutely stunning, but I cant see it. What if Stonebridge Cross is the most feasible option and could be deliverable in 3 years?

Would be like us to have any new stadium which the club needs to go forward scrapped because fans want it elsewhere... I anticipate KEIOC are waiting with baited breath.

It would be good if the majority of the fan-base itself took it upon themselves to provide clear direction rather than leaving it all to someone else.

We'd be doing the council a big favour building on Stonebridge Cross and that's why they're pushing it, they can't give it away, they redirected a river to attract Amazon and they still went elsewhere. The waterfront is in our interests, the council need to get this into their heads, it's our stadium and not an opportunity for the council to get rid of a problem site.

I'm just wondering why the council, or anyone else for that matter, has to do anything with Stonebridge Cross. It was fields in the middle of the last century, why can't it be ploughed over and turned back into fields in the early decades of this one? Plenty of the overspill areas have served their purpose. It is time for the city to fall back in on itself.

Bill should take Moshiri on the Royal Daffodil from Woodside, put on his gushiest blue tinted specs and give a big speech on how magnificent a stadium would look

I don't think many of the bands that are looking to play the Echo are suddenly going to switch to an open air venue that's at least 4 times bigger. Yes we would attract some bands that want to play massive gigs but I don't think we'd often be competing directly with the Echo arena.
Perhaps not, but if we were to be hosting bands regularly then it's unlikely the Echo could host a big gig at the same time. You'll also get bands who are currently doing two nights at the Echo who may be big enough to do a single night at the new stadium.

There's definitely plenty of scope for complaint from the Echo Arena.

Goodison devloped or the docks is all we should be thinking about.

One thing that could help the docks is the old train tunnel that runs from Edge Hill to Waterloo Dock, still there disused, could easily be bought back into use, trains direct from Manchester...etc to the docks.

What happens if we are unable to build on the docks and redevelopment of GP is a non starter ?

Do we stay at Goodison as is ? Surely thats not a long term viable plan. I would like to upgrade Goodison but being a engineer by trade that would be very expensive and will intrude on people's houses, not to mention the time it would take.

The docks would be great if that's not possible for whatever reason then what ?

Club needs to take the lead on this issue through the media.

You're right, the council are setting the narrative through the Red Echo. Stonebridge Cross is not in our interests. Someone mentioned two bus routes, that's it. The Waterfront has Merseyrail nearby that can get you straight to Lime Street, to Wirral or towards Southport if you live that way, the Mersey tunnels will disperse people from over the water and beyond, and take your pick of buses into town and it's a shortish walk, no brainer.

It would be good if the majority of the fan-base itself took it upon themselves to provide clear direction rather than leaving it all to someone else.
SC would go down like a pork chop at a bar mitzvah with the fanbase.

It's worse than Kirkby imo. It wouldn't matter how pretty the stadium was that they put there, it'd still be a turd.

I think there'd be universal disapproval and for that reason alone, I think it'll never happen.

It wont be achievable in 3 years. Thats just electioneering. We need to make choices outside of Joe Andersons time frame. If they had Architects, Structural and Service consultants on board, and had been working on this for the last 18 months, then maybe. But, I would be very surprised if all that was happening and nobody had heard a word.

He just wants the Evertonians vote and knows that failure to achieve that time-frame will be laid squarely at the clubs feet by all of us, as it has on every other occasion.
