Looking up at NW corner, and thats the little end!!!

One part of the design that I don’t get is why the roof on that South Stand balcony/concourse is so low. It seems much more claustrophobic than it needs to be. It also narrows toward the windows, which will impact on the view and reduce natural light.
Thought that myself. I'm also not convinced it's as big a space as it should be for a new build. Lots of dead space above it too, could there have been a second area behind the glazed bit?

The fella on the scissor lift thing adds some great perspective there. Not been down yet, but planning a visit soon. I've been past on the train into town which offers some good views from an elevated position, but obviously being moving is not the best for getting a proper look. I will get some snapshots next time it's quiet-ish.

Presumably, they'll have to fit all of the concrete in the upper tier of both the north and south stands before they start to put the roof on? Couple of weeks?
I assumed, or assume that the roof is sort of the last big big job to do in terms of structure? Once the roof is on it may make it tricky to get any more larger materials into the centre to then work with?

I could be completely wrong like, but logically I feel like it could be that simple?

The roof trusses are meant to be going up this month. Personally I can't see it.

They've still got to finish the South Stand steelwork and install the vast majority of the PCC terracing units.

They've also got to erect the rest of the temporary supports.

October I recon.

I actually had a short conversation with someone at LoR who has knowledge of the BMD through my work, (I’m an engineer by trade) and although he is not directly involved in the build he has some insight.

He tells me they are bang on schedule with the build but as you probably read already it’s the winter months that will be key depending on the weather if it stays on schedule.

The roof trusses will have to wait until all the concrete terraces are in place in the upper section on the North and South stand as obviously you can’t lift concrete blocks into place if the roof is in the way.

They are aiming for the start of the 24/25 season with test events taking place with limited capacities then ramping up towards the start of the season.

In short if we get a horrible winter in terms of winds and weather that will slip.

…sounding good. if the roof is in place ahead of the really bad weather, does that enable progress to be made on internal development regardless of conditions?
