New Everton Stadium

It’s going to be as good as City’s hospo, which is by far the best in the league
A genuine question here: is it? I was always under the impression it was Arsenal's or now Spurs', but that's based on anecdotal evidence - stuff I've heard.

Whoever we're comparing it too, it's going to be a huge step-up on what we currently offer due to our limited space.

City is the gold standard mate, it is absolutely incredible

There has always been an explanation for the design.

Once we decided the orientation was to be north>south the basic facts are that the site isn't massive, the back row of the north stand to the back row of the south stand in distance isn't too different to the Park End to Gwladys back rows.

So knowing that, if you want a bigger home end like the majority did, then something had to give
and the design reflects that there's literally no more footprint to build on. It didn't have to be that way, we could have had two medium sized end stands if people were more bothered about aesthetics.

Personally I think it gives a pretty bland interior some character.
Ok. But I was of the understanding that the shape of that north stand prior to the tweaks that were made to get it through the PA had a 'complete' stand of seating like the other three? If that was the case then that explanation doesn't fit.

I can't ever recall seeing any version at the PA stage that has a 'full' north stand.

What do they have ?

Do you know what ours will have ?

Obviously a bar and food , but what will make it incredible?

1. They have all sorts, but the food is just unreal. Been served in there a few times due to a previous life and you just get the best food, plus a load of treats and drinks to keep you going all game. Seats aren’t bad either.

2. Yes. It’s going to be class.

3. Just everything about it. Jaws will hit the floor.

Nice one ?

I'm just going off some of the design pics I've seen. I've just seen a bar, nothing really stands out which would make our experience incredible.

Ok. I remember a lot of fuss being made over the changes made and the shape of that north stand became an issue around the same time. I've probably put two and two together and made five.

Same height, yes. But the seating was going to be right to the top of the stand and not leaving that huge glass dropaway that distinguishes it from the other three stands.
What I meant by height of the north stand was the back row seats not the roof.
The height of the back row seats was always going to be the same on the north stand in a 60k+ stadium or a 53k stadium. Given the smaller north-south footprint available the pitch has been positioned to make way for a larger South stand.
I don’t think the seating was ever going to go all the way to the top in the north stand. Unless you increased the angle (or rake) dramatically.

If I remember correctly it’s because the north end of the site is blocked in by the waste treatment site behind. So to have a continuous roof and for the general look of the stadium the seating couldn’t go any further back so it had to be lower. In the days of overhanging tiers it likely wouldn’t have been an issue but they are really done anymore.

This explains the poo smell when I was down there a couple of months ago.

I guess that won't be changing any time soon unless the stadium is sponsored by fabreeze or magic tree.

Very tight access for wagons etc in east stand?

Jake Humphreys tweeted a picture of the "food" he was served at Old Trafford compared to what he gets at the Etihad.

Slightly skeptical that that's what they give to people in hospitality at Man U. Surely not? Or is he just whinging about the standard of freebie for the press?
That was his press freebie, but it's still a stark contrast to the freebies he gets at other grounds. Old Trafford is crumbling and has a rodent problem, everything about the club is stuck in the 90s.
