New Everton Stadium

Made it down for the first time today.

Holy cow, what an unbelievable hive of activity. Trucks coming and going all the time.

It’s going to be unreal.

Small detail, but I loved all the Everton graffiti written in the dust on the signage at the main (but blocked off) dock gates.

Little clues about how popular the site is with visiting Toffees already.

Absolute joke that article.

The address of the site is Bramley-Moore Dock, Regent Road, Liverpool, L3 0AP .

Everton Football Club do not have the authority to change an address.

In fact, we don't even own the land, Maybe, err, the land owners (Peel) might like a say? You know, seeing as it's their private property? But don't see the kopite even mention this. Why not? I mean, it's highly relevant. THEY OWN THE LAND.

Again though, I suspect that Peel can't just decide to change the address. It's not up to them. Just like it wouldn't be up to us, even if we did actually own the land.

I’ve just listened to this… wish I hadn’t.

They are talking about an opportunity for Everton etc etc. At one point I heard George Floyd mentioned. It all seems a bit forced to me and they seem to treat Liverpool people as if we are thick.

Anyone from Liverpool will know about the slave trade and how our port was one of the most used ports for the import and export of slaves. Bramley Moore as a man lived what? Almost 200 years ago, to say times have changed since then is an understatement.

It’s almost like they are talking a load of nonsense without actually saying what they want the conclusion to be. My own conclusion is that of course slavery was bad, however it was acceptable at the time, and massive business. We can’t just forget about the name ‘Bramley Moore’ because it has slave trade roots, we might aswell re write the history of the city. In my opinion the stadium should be called the Bramley Moore Dock, I think anyone who finds this racist or condoning racism needs to get a grip. Things are different, times are different, however the site is called Bramley Moore, end of.

Yeah, they went all over the place during that discussion. I'd have thought Chapman would have done a better job of steering the conversation.

"Everton should do something to commemorate the history of the site!“

Everton have said they're planning to do something

" I don't know about you, but I think it's a great opportunity to Everton to face up the this and not try to brush it under the carpet"
