There were studies conducted on the uplift in the Walton economy a few years back and it was substantial. I'd expect Everton Stadium in Vauxhall to - over time - have a similar impact.…its an interesting discussion & a subject undoubtedly covered in the stadium business case (I recall much being made of the stadium usage for the community outside matchdays) but we are talking about one or two games per fortnight & for only a part of the year.
Some pubs in Walton have struggled despite Goodison being on their doorstep.
Depends on what use GP area is put to. Have any plans be mentioned ?
Looks fantastic tbf...as opposed to LFC razing to the ground a community.
Oh they'd flatten it and walk away make no mistake.Looks fantastic tbf...as opposed to LFC razing to the ground a community.
Poor old Scotland Road.
As Bishop Williams says, the old place might be resurrected yet by our new ground.
Scotland Road: Pubs of Liverpool thoroughfare face last orders
Scotland Road once had dozens of bustling pubs, but all that could end as the last one goes up for sale.www.bbc.co.uk
so why not change the name of the mersey, its never endingWell…..you can change the name.
Last thing the city needs is monuments to slave traders so yes we can’t change the past we can choose if we want to continue with links to slavery or change it and educate
if you do away with history you cant change the future, in 100 years time people wont believe there were slaves as all statues have been pulled down, its as if people are ignoring itI don't see it as "woke" it's more deciding on whether to continue keeping the name alive. For instance, statues are built of ex players, to celebrate their history with the club and keep their name/status alive.
I don't know anyone who has an attachment to "Bramley Moore" so why would it be a problem renaming it to something that isn't tarnished? Not everything is woke. Sometimes, it's just nice to be able to not continue with things that were decided when the world was very different.
Sorry for off topic ;- You must be a mind reader Tommye, was actually talking about this last night with my wife. I have actually also got slipped discs (2 of them), I was supposed to have an operation on the 20th Oct in the Nuffield in Chester but it was cancelled short notice. Now booked in for the 17th November , will see if the operation helps before trying anything else.Have you tried CBD oil for the chronic back pain?
Got a mate who swears by it for his back troubles.
He's had several slipped discs over the years and struggled to stand up straight prior to him using it. Like a new man.
Can’t see the roof trusses going up next week, forecast is to be windy, hope it’s wrong
?Thanks for the update mate, I'll let them know
...and the stadium looking better and better and bigger and bigger??I wonder if there's a correlation between Everton slur stories and when Liverpool are going through a run of poor results.
