New Everton Stadium

Were building a stadium on the Banks of the Mersey.

Its good, facilities look superb but its not world class.
Maybe going slightly off topic, but that expression 'a world class stadium' is daft.

A stadium is fit for purpose or it isn't.

The Etihad isn't a brilliant football stadium, the Olympic stadium isn't, Wembley isn't.

Had Liverpool been awarded the commenwealth games I doubt Everton would have gained a brilliant football stadium.

We're getting a purpose built stadium with a decent capacity with stands in top of the pitch in a location that will benefit from huge regeneration over the next 20 years......

What else would it need to get this imaginary 'world class' standard?

Quite.

Its a beautiful building, imo, on a location that is iconic to anyone with a scintilla of a link to the city of Liverpool. Happens to be our new home kinda clinches the deal for me

I think the stadium and location is great. But like most on here I’m biased and would say that.
To people with no connection to Everton or the city of Liverpool, it’s a stadium next to a sewage works with a large scrap yard further down the road.

Right, but people visiting from.outside the city will have no clue what the building is next door. They'll generally be coming to the ground from the South/City Center.

After a period of time the majority of Liverpool Waters will be developed and the ten streets could well be thriving. You'd imagine each side of Great Howard Street will see some new businesses spring up to support the influx of residential and business tenants.

Honestly, they only people worried about our new ground being next to the treatment works are a few bed wetters here who are convinced it will stink every single match day.

Right @tommye I've tidied up my numbers and this is what I've got capacity wise lol

South Stand 13,000
North Stand Lower 2,818
North Stand Upper 5,778
North Stand Lower (away fans) 2,079
East Stand Upper 7,446
East Stand Lower 4,970
West Stand Upper 6,537
West Stand Lower 4, 626
Total 47,254

Leaves 5,634 which will be part miscalculation by me and some corporate sections which will make the total

52,888

So when someone's says a stand is too small, or how big is a stand in comparison to stadium x, y or z we'll know that approx capacity is

South Stand holds 13,000
North Stand holds 8,600
Away end holds 2,079
East Stand holds 12,400
West Stand holds 11,100

Then there's 4/5k miscellaneous I haven't accounted for to make the 52,888

….the surroundings to Anfield are hardly Beverly Hills, it doesn’t matter a lot. BMD stadium will be known for being on the banks of the Mersey. It has to be an iconic position.

That just makes no sense at all.

If you don’t know Liverpool then you will know Bramley Moore from Match of The Day as the 4th Grace. The most photogenic stadium in the country.

If you do know Liverpool then it’s a 25 min walk from the Liver Building that may take 3 hours while you frequent the new bars and restaurants that will line the route.

It’s perfect.
