New Everton Stadium

I think we'll see it even more prominent in the coming weeks/months.

How far have you zoomed in on that brickwork macca?

Subtle.

This might be common knowledge already, but seeing this, it has just struck me - did Archibald Leitch do the latticework in that pattern to mirror the Scottish flag? Has Goodison had loads of reverse Scottish Flags all around it all this time? Would make sense what with him being from Glasgow.
I think it's a cross shape purely because that's the strongest shape.

However, what I don't know is why some panels only have one diagonal cross brace.

I wonder how much the current conditions will be slowing things down
I'm having an extension built at the moment - so much, much smaller scale, with much, much smaller machinery - but they are excavating like it's nothing.

I think generally rain is the worst. But cold, even a bit of snow, is mostly okay. At least, that's what the fellas working on my house said.

Stayed in the Titanic last night , wanting to walk over this morning for a few pics.

20 minutes getting into me car in minus 5 put told to that ?

Got close up in the car tho & trust me no video's or pics do it justice.

It's absolutely massive.
I am staying there on the 26th. Do you get views of the new ground from the rooms at all?

I think it's fair to say that the 'latticework' pattern will be seen on the four corners of the stadium where there's unbroken brick facade for a few metres. You can see it there - more as a 'watermark' than anything more obvious though. But the perforated rainscreen panels break up the rest of the brickwork around the stadium and just dont allow even that watermark effect to happen.

It was a stupid nod to the past by Meis. I blame him for a failed design in that respect. He was throwing the kitchen sink at this in order to curry favour with the tragical history tour element of our fanbase.

It's just not worked out as far as I can see.

Will it take the look off the stadium? No. It wont. But it definitley shouldn't have made its way off the drawing board.

Have a little lie down mate. Maybe press a damp cloth to your forehead. Wont seem so bad then.

Rain isn't a huge issue on the larger projects (roof work may be different), as the machinery just deals with it, also dedicated pedestrian areas these days make navigating it all by foot much, much easier. Not quite like it was back in my days on site.
Wind is the killer, at least until they get it waterproof. The speed that wind gets up to on the floor plate, even in a mild breeze is astonishing, you end up practically begging to do some work in the service risers. Ive returned to site to see peo[le mobile platforms essentially thrown off 3 floors up cause it wasn't fixed surely enough overnight.
