New Everton Stadium

People don't actually realise that peel have started things with the scheme. People automatically assume that because there's no building work going on then things aren't happening. They're looking at foreign investment and have held many a conference for the Asia markets, and according to people within the group the take up is potentially there.

From the offset they've said this development of the area is a 40 year project, not an overnight thing. They're planning for down the line and it's all based on the Atlantic gateway scheme, making the north west a hub for imports which will attract business to the area. The entire Liverpool waters scheme, from the 3 graces down has been given an enterprise zone listing which has benefits for the developers and businesses.

The major issue for putting a stadium down there is traffic management, especially with L2 coming online pretty soon. The port has aurorae systems now, when they go down the group implement a procedure called "operation stack" whereby all the trucks are lined from along regent road, from the strand road entrance, all the way towards town. L2 is destined to become 24/7 port. If you had match day footfall coupled with a failure at the dock and operation stack was authorised it could be an absolute nightmare down there.

There is a lot more to consider than the basics of the perfect location, if talks progress and solutions are identified it'll be great for us. Personally I can't see it happening, and I've had this opinion for a long time due to certain things I'm informed. I hope I'm wrong, nothing better than a cruise ship passing our beloved home.

Time will tell, buy I'm probably less optimistic than most about this
I'll bow to your greater knowledge here mate, but, 4 years in and despite 'conversations' there isn't anything tangible happening with it.

It surely needs a 'spark' to act as the catalyst for the start of the project? Someone needs to commit in order for that to happen.

The fact that Peel said the other day that there was nothing they could say on the issue, and not, that it's simply not going to happen as it doesn't fit with their entire project, says to me that they've far from closed the door on it.

We'll see how it pans out, but for me it's gone from being a fanciful pipedream to a possibility now.

And I point to Leicester.
I knew you were going to say that.

However, as pleased as I am that they have broken the mould I think it may create a number of problems for them next season.
They are going to have a lot of expectation on their shoulders next season, not least with their foray into the CL.
They are going to have to increase their squad and the players they sign will be probably on higher wages than existing players which may upset the pay scale.

Now that the glory of winning is settling down I think Leicester face a lot of challenges this summer and next season.

The clubs that usually have this level of success have an infrastructure built up over years to cope.

They may aswell of not bothered winning the league then really now they have all these "problems"

Should of just finished 8th as that is the best position to finish now if you are "building something" as our neighbours are now telling us, all part of Klopps plan

Just say the Docks is a no go and the club go all out for Stone bridge, no consultation just go and start building fast track to be ready in 3 years? Would there be acceptance or do you think there would be protests etc? There does not seem to be any other options on the table so if it is Stonebridge what is the feeling?

As bad as Kirkby. A pointless, low ambition move.

If there was no fan consultation and they went for SC, there'd be hell on.

I think the level of acceptance of that site would be worse than Kirkby now, due partially to the raising of expectations post the arrival of Moshiri.

For me it's an absolute non starter.

Some people are getting ahead of themselves with stadium ideas on the proposed docks site , although that area would be the obvious best outcome to the majority of blues, now is the time, while the decision is being made to make it clear to the club our feelings, not just by forums but by letters, emails, radio phone ins in fact anything that can sway the decision away from SC.
I can't believe SC got 15% of votes in the Echo poll. I was born and brought up there. In fact I went to Stonebridge Lane comprehensive school in the 70's which was on the same site and has since been demolished. So I can speak from experience and say that SC is NOT the area you want a prestige premiership stadium.
I have seen many many comments on here accusing BK in particular of being complacent, well it's time for the fans to not be complacent if we want the stadium of our dreams.

If the majority of those votes were all Blues I'll wear a RS top to every home game next season.

If the intention was to gauge opinion, then I think it's fair to say they've had the feedback.

The Olympic village isn't in London per se. Sydney's Olympic stadium is miles from the CBD.

If we were to be given a commonwealth stadium, likelihood they'd want it in a large redevelopment area, not hemmed in on the waterfront.

A very bitter and very long battle between the fanbase and club.
An absolute non stater.

Yes, silly beggars. Look what they've done now. Winning the league? I told you it would only create problems. :(

Then let the council build that in crocky, they cannot dictate to the club now because we have the means to go our own route
