Of course, since then USM has been sanctioned (how permanently we don't know). On top of that Moshiri stated to the shareholders association in the summer that the costs had risen to £700-750m. We haven't been able to finalise any loan deal and we're still entirely reliant on bank of daddy.

When I was told of this snippet late summer. My reaction was:

"Hang on, the club have been shouting from the rooftops that Denise had negotiated a fixed price for the delivery of the stadium. Surely they weren't being a little inventive with what's actually been agreed?"

If course, all the seals clapped and cheered.

The thing is, the Qatar Airways Stadium sounds rubbish. At least The Emirates, or The Ethiad are abbreviated so don't sound as bad. The Qatar Stadium actually sounds worse than The Qatar Airways Stadium.

Would make the case for a slavery museum cast iron though.

In other news , Moshiri was on TalkSport today and mentioned our “ £760 million” stadium. So much then for Denise telling us that that the costs had been fixed , and the only previous mention of the costs were at £500 mill . I doubt if our board were daft enough to say anywhere that they were fixed at £500mill , so it appears that we have done a wonderful deal to fix the costs at 50% above what they previously were.

That's what inflation does, the Emirates stadium at 360 million was deemed way to costly at the time, now it seems cheap. Wait another 20 years it might cost 1 billion for your average run of the mill stadium.
