New Everton Stadium

Why would anyone do this? Don’t get it. It’s like saying I’m off to town but I’m going to park my car in Southport, what’s the point.

I travel about 75 miles each way via car for each game.

Where we park now means we get home for 7ish on a 3pm game.
If parking near stadium or central adds an hour or so on that it's a ball ache imho.

Just one thing I've just thought of, anybody handy for Hunt's Cross, Southport, Ormskirk or Kirkby stations should have it really easy. First on the train, seat to themselves then get off at Sandhills. Trains will be chocker further down the line, of course.

Interestingly, the battery capacity of the Class 777's will allow them to push further than the historic Merseyrail boundary that was only in place due to 3rd line powering of Merseyrail trains. Hunts cross will not be the Northern Line boundary for long.

This goes for all directions and lines on Merseyrail.

Yeah I get it, everyone is different. I just don’t see anyone really going to pubs by Goodison before a game at BMD. I get it because of the nostalgia but do people go to town now before an Everton game and drink and then get to Goodison from there.

I just see people going the black horse, oak and the wimslow for a short while. Then people will be like ‘why am I doing this when there are pubs and bars nearer the ground, even town’. Just doesn’t seem logical to me.

Excuse my ignorance of the local pubs, (I have been in The Wimslow and Tommy Frosts on match days, thats it), but do either have much traffic on non match days? I guess they must have, to a degree, no pub can survive on about 20 trading days a year, lets face it. But unless you live locally to them, would you travel from say Birkenhead or such like?

Just watched Mister Drone's IoM terminal video and the stadium from that perspective looks a) huge and b) if you squint it almost looks like it is finished...

We have been through some crap supporting Everton and we are still going through it but this is something to significantly ease that burden. It is amazing.

The Winslow is closed other than match days and the occasional hiring for a funeral. Frosts is busy from 9 every morning with the alcoholic community.

Wait till we have to pay for it eh.

The ferry carries 2000 at a time? Have a park and ferry so you can park over the water and ship over 2k at a time. A ferry terminal at BMD could work, couldn't it?

I think the Ferries are limited to about 850 capacity nowadays. Still fairly substantial. However, I think it would take Liverpool waters growing to Canary wharf type scale for it to warrant a new ferry landing stage.

That could equate to 200+ cars off the roads on matchdays.

Not sure we need a landing stage. A system of precise trebuchet could launch people into catch nets atop the ferry.

They should hire me for ideas.

How about, people who bring their own parachutes can be taken to the top of BMD, and then can jump off to glide to the other side of the water?

This also means then we inevitably get beat by Sutton United at home people can choose to cut their chute and go straight into the freezing cold temperatures.
