New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Given the goalposts are 8 yards apart - that screen could easily be 4 times that on the diagonal

At 16:9 that comes in near 26m wide 15m high
Judging by the video on the Everton Stadium web site, it's significantly wider than 16:9.

It's crude, but I've overlaid a 16:9 yellow box over the screen here to give you a rough idea of it's true shape:

(I'm presuming the blue bars with the Everton badge are also part of the screen, as opposed to fixed illuminated panels).

Jeez that looks stretched badly, ratio doesn't look right at all.
Is there any comparison with other recently built stadiums?

I wouldn't worry about it, they aren't going to stretch the video on it. They'll just use each side for advertising / other messaging.

Goodison's big screens are 4:3 and there's no issue there with 16:9 video.
I'm looking for an example of how match footage is presented on the Goodison screens. The closest I can find is this:

You can see how they fit 16:9 content in the centre of the 4:3 screen (purple VAR area). It'll be the same deal with the wider screens, it's just the padding will be at the left and right instead of the top and bottom.

Just another post to divert my attention away from the depressing subject of relegation, but does anybody have any information about the big screens behind the goals? How big are they? How much bigger than the ones we've got are they? Twice as wide x twice as high? Thanks.
What about their fridges? Any pics?

Never offside!
