New Everton Stadium

I just did a stadium tour in April. Goodison, the Den, Loftus Road, London Stadium, Selhurst Park, U of Bolton Stadium. London Stadium was laid out terribly, I was sooo far from the pitch, but there were 60k people in that ground and it felt way different any of the other grounds. Just walking into the ground in a crowd that large was a powerful experience. With more thought and a better layout, which I think BMD will have, getting 65k Evertonians in there would be amazing. Goodison plus 20k+ more people, it's going to be awesome.
I've been to the London Sadium a couple of times. Once for athletics and for a concert.

It was obviously tailor made for athletics and it was great for that. I'm also a fan of the architecture, whilst a bit utilitarian it works.

For the concert, the stage was miles away and its how I'd imagine watching a pen being taken at the far end. Imo it should have never been converted into a footie stadium. It works well as an athletics stadium and a country like the uk should have a decent sized stadium for that.

They manage to fill their ground due to low ticket prices ( I can't see tickets being that cheap at our new ground) and tapping into vast number of tourists that visit the city. Whilst we have a bigger traditional match day fanbase than them we'd never compete on the tourist front.

There might be a few cranks wound up by BMD but the vast majority of reds I know aren't a bit bothered.... many actually think it'll be a good thing for the city generally and they're appreciative of that.

Those I've spoken to certainly don't feel threatened by it. Why would they? They've got to 61k for a fraction of the cost, with 3 times the number of boxes of BMD and over double the corporate capacity. Their new stands pay for themselves in no time. Freeing up more cash from an already much larger matchday income, to invest in to an already much superior team. The truth is, we barely register on their "causes for concern" list.

Some may have concerns that the step change in facilities and profile may set the club up for a wealthier and more professional ownership to come in (we all hope), but they're probably more than balanced by those who see the resultant debt killing us, or not owning the stadium. (Hence the reason for most not being too bothered so far).
Loads of them are bothered by it. They’re even referencing it in their “witty” songs they make up about us.

I’m going to file this alongside the time you said there’s loads of empty seats at Goodison and there’s no demand for spare tickets.

I’ve never met any Evertonian ever, who jumps to the defence of any criticism of LFC/Anfield like you do.

Likewise the criticisms of our vastly superior, waterfront stadium.

The large majority of Liverpool fans don't like Everton having nice things, so they are bothered about it.

Regardless of the plaudits you heap upon them, Anfield is just an old stadium in a rundown suburb of Liverpool, whereas BMD is a new showcase stadium within an iconic location that will host all major sporting and entertainment events that come to the city.

Trust me, BMD is a bitter blue pill they're having trouble swallowing.

That's viewing it all a bit one dimensionally.

The finances pay for Liverpool because they have a huge commercial operation up and running that exploits any incremental changes they make to Anfield.

But it's not just about money spinning or attracting investors in the future. There's a symbolic dimension to this, and they dont like that. No one bit.

Im with Tom. Dont know a single red who is bothered by it.

I’m the opposite

Haven’t met a single Red that hasn’t tried to disparage it and the club often in subtle not so humorous ways.

I just laugh because their ground may be bigger BMD is just better as they have lots on restricted seating and the locations between the two is incomparable. (Don’t tell @Tom Hughes that sssshhhh).

Don’t care how many more seats or boxes they have I’ll still wouldn’t swap for BMD.

Bet they would though even if they won’t admit to it

Mere thought of Everton Fc getting any sort of positive coverage which takes the limelight off them of one second eats them up inside and this ground I one such they can't turn round and make about themselves. You only had to see fuss they made over opening that new stand the other year...they crave the attention and hate it when we're receiving it it's how they're built, to suggest otherwise is naive.

Yeah, this is my experience.

Red’s who’ve spoke to me about have focussed heavily on will it be finished if we go down, is the funding gonna fall through, was I disappointed with the capacity.

All little subtle digs through gritted teeth.
