New Everton Stadium

I personally don't think their new stands look bad at all The only thing I will say though is that with the other 2 stands still being the way that they are, it makes it look completely uneven and daft the same way St James' Park is.

The new stand at least stops the hole punch looking so out of place. They aren't the prettiest from inside though.

Liverpool is already a global brand and Anfield a ‘destination’ so they needed to expand capacity as much as possible but could do it cheaply wth a purely financial eye.

I wouldn't call it cheap, £200 million for two stands. They are lucky that they had the space to extend what they have by so many seats. If they try to redevelop one or both of the other stands then the cost will rise sharply, to do something with the road behind the kop could easily see that costing double what the AR has.

£200m is relatively cheap to get to 61k capacity with over triple our boxes and double our corporate.

Can just see they tourists as the hop off the bus outside it...

All sorted mate, I'm opening a chippy which is on the corner and it has a few tables and a little hatch where you can order a pint whilst waiting for your food order. You can come pre match for the experience, or post match for the experience, or both for a pre and post match experience.

It's called "maccas corner bistro chippy pub shop emporium"
fish and chips and a Chang please bro

Can we top up our elecki and gas keys while we wait?

I drove past the new stadium today for thr first time in about 12 months. It's starting to look very impressive but thr surrounding area is just depressing. Where are the corner shops, the pubs, a chippy. Where's the pre & post match experience? What's the plan for the area around the stadium? I'm sure it's all been announced somewhere but I've not seen it.
Exactly what I have been on about. There needs to be pubs opening up around now. Shops as you say. The whole area is still lacking anyrhing really. Bramley moore pub will obviously be a home pub and be great but where are the others.

Why would pubs open now? They'd be bloody out of business before the stadium opens!

One step at a time. Stadium gets built then slowly but surely confidence in the area grows, investors come in, residents move in, bars start popping out of nowhere, it becomes the extension of Liverpool City Centre.

The stadium is the catalyst. It needs to get to near completion and then it becomes the first domino.
