Australia has just cancelled hosting the 2026 Commonwealth Games as being too expensive. Shouldn’t we be all over this as it could easily contribute a massive sum to our stadium costs.

Unless we do a Hampden and drop a raised platform in for the running track (and lose capacity), it's too late to make the stadium athletics-capable.

See, solutions not just problems. You may be able to tell that I’ve never in my whole life watched a single moment of the olympics or the commonwealth games, nor Wimbledon either. Just a bunch of men in costumes picking up litter does nothing for me.

Only one slight drawback is that the spectators might not be able to see it.... Wait a minute, you could be on to something here, why don't we put the pitch outside of the stadium, better than all the obstructed views put together.

Could do a double story Cut out a hole of additional stadium size, leaving enough earth or reinforcement under the main (football) stadium build a state-of-the-art athletics field/ training area, will obviously be indoor/astroturf. Inbuilt hospital food court shopping mall.
