New Everton Stadium

Lets not forget that a high profile location would probably not allow such an expanse of land to go for a 'single use' facility. Concerts & other events would have to be allowed, I imagine, in order to obtain such a site. The downside of that is that your playing surface is invariably affected by such activities.

Unless you could squeeze in a handy bolt-on next door?

I doubt we'd get permission to host any event the Echo Arena can cover. Big open air concerts maybe.

No idea of the Arenas capacity, but it probably couldnt host the mega mega bands that can sell out Stadiums, so more of a compliment to the Arena rather than a competitor.

Fair point & I clearly don't know the local attitude to such events but 'if you build it, they will come...'

Here, we have 3 major stadiums, 36k, 56k, and 100k, plus the three indoor tennis courts/arenas at 15k, 10k, and 7k. All are regularly in use for a variety events through the year.

55k. Lets all be real. We're not going to sell that out. Need a bit of space for those day trippers in a few years if results start going well in the future and start to see a little 'success'. I just want something that will make a huge statement when people look at the mersey waterfront. Those cruise shipped looking at an amazing looking stadia!

As far as I know the Stonebridge conversations stopped at least 2 months ago. It's clearly not the preferred option.

On the stadium designs I've had them described to me by a couple of people independently as "amazing, futuristic and incredible"

In Xanadu did Kubla Khan a stately pleasure-dome decree...
Or
In Sandon Dock did Moshiri a stadium development agree

Indeed. The entrance to the dressing rooms bears this out ...

You live on the Wirral I take it?
