New Everton Stadium

What happens to our sacred St Luke the evangelist church when we leave?

Acts 20:28
Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.
we'd have a life sized replica build in the grounds of the new stadium and have it as a cafe/restaurant. Same with a Prince Ruperts tower (but a bit bigger than the real one), inside to be decked with photos of our history, players, managers, Goodison,

I understand that a new pitch on the waterfront would be very prestigious, but in terms of cold hard cash , could it generate extra revenue over and above a similar stadium built elsewhere in the city ?

I would imagine the opportunities for sponsorship/naming rights would be much higher and also it would be easier to to fill the boxes. Dare I say it companies would be ringing us to want to have a box in it.

My own personal opinion, I adore Benfica's stadium (minus the red of course) and Borussia Monchengladbach's stadium. I think Bilbao's new stadium is very smart as well (again imagine in blue trim!) Something similar to either of those sitting proudly on the waterfront and i'd be beside myself!

Anyway, just posting my random thoughts. I love Goodison but i'd give anything to see us in a world class spanking new stadium.

Gladbachs stadium is nice but is pretty much a tin shed with lots of concrete. Not a bad atmosphere but could be better. Its also in the middle of nowhere which doesnt help.

None of these other amazing stadiums people are talking about are right next to big ugly, faeces farms - kind of takes the look off it.

Also, I cant imagine billionaire Moshiri sitting in his exectutive box eating caviar whilst the smell of human waste drafts in.

I was previously all for a waterfront stadium but if the site is definitely Bramley Moore dock then im not as enthused as I was.

And a museum fit enough for the best football collection in the world please, the David France collection.

Very much agreed.

It should be up there with the Bernebeu, Nou Camp and San Siro that visitors to the city have to go to.

Stadium tours and a museum would give us a greater presence in world football as visitors will understand our standing in the game and hopefully follow us and talk about us when they get back home to their far flung parts of the globe.

The sleeping giant is now yawning and the world will look on in admiration once more as it wakes from a 30 year slumber.

I'm very glad someone's raised this. It's vital that in the excitement of a potential move we don't disregard over a century of ours and football's heritage. I'd like to see something echoing Goodison remain and helping to bring new life to that area as well, affordable housing, commemorative space, a home for the David France collection, St Luke's, The Wilmslow, The Blue Dragon should all be preserved.
But most of all, I think the greatest gift we could bestow on the site of our former home, the sacred patch of land that holds so many memories, ecstatic and exasperating would be this..
The base of a new landmark for the city, a majestic tower rising hundreds of feet into the air, illuminated in Royal Blue, with a giant, gently flashing arrow pointed directly at another former home, emblazoned with the words: "TITHEADS --->"

Yeah, I think I'd like that. I'd like that a lot.
