We must be the owner for the duration of the lease. So we can sell 49% of the stadium to a third party.

Which is fine, you either get your capital bit by bit over the decades or you can get less (but still a lot) handed to you upfront.

we play like stoke but we have a shiny new stadium on the waterfront

mbappe and bellingham will be creaming themselves to join us

This stadium is feeling like the beacon of hope but not having 100% of the revenue coming into the club is soul destroying.

It was the step to move us closer to our rivals and we will be lumped with debt and overpriced season tickets to keep up.

Maybe we could retain ownership but sell certain rights to others? Eg the non football events right

They should have all the fans who go away to sit together, their support is incredible.

Neither we nor 777 are making a deal of this nature from a position of strength. We'll also be selling the minority interest to hard nosed investors rather than a tamed oligarch. So the value assigned really isn't going to make pretty viewing (relative to the debts incurred) given the known revenue generating constraints implicit in the design, location and principal tenant.

It would certainly help ease the immediate cashflow worries but it would be naive to assume our likely owners wont then just extract the cash raised to cover the debts they'll of taken on to acquire us.

We really don't seem to have any good options, but, even with that qualifier, this still seems one of the less desirable.
