I was with you on wanting 61,878 just because of the nod to our founding year.It's the perfect number for our capacity. The one thing that disappoints me about the new gaff. The rest is stunning.
Now I'm fine with the proposed capacity and hope to see it packed to the rafters.
65,000 stadiums are great BUT despite some people saying we would fill it, none of us can forsee the future. In spite of it being a 'golden era' for us, in the eighties attendances plummeted (not just Everton but ALL clubs) This of course was to do with the cost of living and a sharp decrease in 'disposable' income.
Who knows what the economy will be like 10 or 20 years from now?
