I don't really give a hoot about a new stadium. For my purposes and that of my kids - Goodison is just perfect.
My kids are 5 and 10 and the eldest has been to wembley in the normal and club seats, A*field, Villa Park in hospitality seats and a few others.
Her first time in the Gladwys St after a goal and she looks at me to me to agree there's nowhere else on earth quite like it.
Until we've won a few trophies and have queues for season tickets and corporate boxes I want every possible penny given to Martinez to spend on the players. A fancy seat can wait.
the crappy ayatollah i.e. "the slap your head if you're a [Poor language removed] move" some weird cardiff celebration thing where you tap your head, it's suppose to be someone's arms slapping their head - i'm presuming that's what it is anyway.
nice mockup from the swansea fans. think it's a silly idea for cardiff to expand to 30,000? because of one season in the prem, personally think they should make themselves an established prem team before throwing money away like this. the large majority of their fans are bandwagon jumpers, if they're not doing well, they'll all dissapear and start supporting their first teams again.
Not such a silly idea, it's based on increased revenues the expansion would bring. A silly idea was building a stadium that was too small the season after it was finished....... cough cough Jacks cough
yeah but swansea do have plans to expand, they've been in the prem a few years now and making sure they're consolidated before building which is the right way to go because they weren't selling out too often back in the championship.
cardiff are expanding to about 30,000 i think when the majority of their fanbase support man united and liverpool, they won't be arsed again now they're back in the championship, there's not a chance in hell they'll be getting close to 30,000 whilst in the championship.
That stadium of yours has been too small for 9 years
Cardiff has a much larger potential fan base than Swansea. They'd have filled a 30k stadium this season, and I get what your'e saying about them establishing themselves, but the added revenue stream more seats will bring will go a long way to making that a reality.
There's a bit more thought gone into the expansion plans there than you're making out bud.
swansea were in the 4th division when the plans were laid in all fairness.
if they fill them, it's a big if for me, guess we'll see. they're the kopites of wales though, if they start doing poorly, the "fans" won't go to the game.
No no no that's Swansea
haha nah, only one wears red, only one has received considerable financial backing over the last decade and still faltered many many times with it and only one has fans who are happy to have the soul of their club destroyed because of the risk of a tiny bit more success.
They started it at the end of last season
The circles are the designs on the seats
Just proves once again (Wolves did it, too) adding a tier onto an existing stand, i.e., the Park End could be done quite easily and relatively cheaply if the club had any ambition whatsoever
I think previous suggestions have involved removing the cantilever roof and adding the extra tier, as opposed to simply building on top of the stand.Have you looked at how difficult it would actually be to build on top of the Park End, due to it being a cantilever design ?
I'm guessing the answer - no.
I think previous suggestions have involved removing the cantilever roof and adding the extra tier, as opposed to simply building on top of the stand.
I agree, it's more complicated than some think. Wolves have done it though so it's possible.
True. It is at least possible though. Realistic is another matter.I just find it a bit frustrating when people point out what other clubs have done as if it's the same in every case.
