New Everton Stadium

They're getting worried now.
They all know how big a club Everton are.
They can't point and laugh at us anymore.
They can't claim the new ground is just a pipe dream.
They can see it growing every day into our new home that they'll all envy.
They know already what it stands for.
They know that the stadium plus this pending takeover could be the kick up the arse we've needed for the best part of 30 yrs and they're worried.
They know what a successful Everton mean and they're scared.
They're shitting themselves that we reclaim our place at the top of the game and push their little piss ant clubs back beneath us where they belong.

Amen to that brother

100%. Seems to have been an uptick in people finding fault with the inside but the inside of a ground is meant to be seen and experienced full of fans, without fans like any other stadium in the world it’s just some seats facing some grass.

The real aesthetic part is the outside and for me anyway it looks absolutely stunning.
Also, I'd say there's a lot to be done by the club after LOR hand the keys over.
Signage, painting, ad hoardings, and other details that when all added together might make the interior look a bit different.
It's hard to get a context of the scale of the place with no actual pitch there.

For me, Stadia aesthetics and performance should always be judged on the internal arrangement of tiers etc. The external facade or detailing has no affect on the performance of the stadium as a viewing platform, or in terms of atmosphere enhancement, weather protection etc. That's why many of the world's greatest stadia are quite austere to the point of being plain or even bland on the outside. It's also why most fans can more readily identify most stadia by their internal views, than their exteriors (with a few obvious exceptions).

Of course, if multi-functionality is another factor, then things such as moving pitches, or closing roofs, back-of-house facilities etc will all come into it.

It'll be interesting to find out. I'd be surprised if they go against the green guide because you have all the safety advisory groups who issue the licenses. So I'm still going to for 25 on the lower and 34 on the upper but I'm not as certain as was earlier!

I remember someone on here showing a pic of the cross section. and someone mentioned the height of the riser too. I'm not going through 7500 pages to find it though!
This is the section submitted for planning. There is very little difference between the upper and lower South.

The max steepness according to the Design & Access Statement is 35 degrees which i expect applies to all the upper tiers with the lower tiers varying.

I've just crudely checked it and the lower is around 30-32 degrees and upper 34 degrees

I think the main thing missing in the new stadium and which will be the deal breaker....is the fans.

The steepness, close proximity of the design, with 52k Evertonians I think is when the magic will happen.

The facilities will be second to none but I'll be honest I don't care for any of that kind of thing. What I want is a vociferous wall of noise and I think, sorry I'll rephrase that to I believe, that's what we'll get Tom.

It's our first move for every single one of us who is alive, we'll make that stadium something to be proud of, something to be feared for the opposition. It's built to not be a diluted run of the mill stadium. It's built for Evertonians, the angry da's, the thoughtful ma's, the young kids, the newbies and the ones who haven't missed a match since 1984.

I'd have loved a triple tier, I'm a lover (like yourself I should imagine) of creativity, overlapping stands, intimidating structures which rise like giants (for all our main stand has so many bloody obstructed views, you will never find a fan who walks up those street end steps for the first time, looks to the right and doesn't crap their pants at the sheer scale of our main stand!)

There's a 1000 things I love about Goodison and only about 3 things I hate.

There's loads of things I've seen at our new stadium where I think "wish they'd done this, wish they'd do that, why haven't they thought of this".

But I keep going back to the same thing which is "if I put 52k Evertonians in BMD, it's going to absolutely explode".

It's like a firework. The fans are the flame. It's just waiting to ignite and when it does.......wow.

Upon closer inspection, that section suggests the lower stand varies from 26 degrees through to 34 degrees!

red=26 degrees, blue=28 degrees, green=30 degrees, orange=34 degrees

So that clears that one up

There's a video ( I tried to find it today and I think it was a @Noggsy blue video) and he got completely side on with the structure (this was even when the bottom half of the lower structure hadn't been fitted yet) and you could really see a gradient change.

That's great that you've found that ARJ as it shows the curvature of the lower tier.

For comparison, that's what a constant 34 degrees looks like.

*edit* and 25 degrees added below

Huge difference that isn't mate. I know the rest of the stands won't be as steep but I'm assuming there's some kind of gradient going on from all sides as when you see a video from the upper south stand, it's very visible that there's a curvature in the East and West.
