New Everton Stadium

If the need arises in the future. Colin Chong confirmed that east and west stands could be extended to add additional 10,000 seats, So you would think 5000 each side. He did state though that the whole roof for all four sides would need to be changed.
When was it he said this? I remember the club being quite cagey about expansion, focusing instead on the attendance boost safe standing might be able to bring with further regulation changes.

Think it is more because of what is served up for that (or any) money really. We all knew it would be terrible and it ended up even worse than expected.

If we were playing well it would have been full at that price (minus the missing away fans).
Exactly this, i usually take my grandson to cup games but wasnt going to put him through what i fully expected and did happen.
He's been downhearted to many times with us unfortunately

If it's the same occasion that I am thinking about, he was asked about it at a meeting with the Shareholder's Association, possibly a year or more ago. He was actually asked about safe-standing, and what the increase in capacity would be due to any increased ratio in the future. I asked the question because I wanted to know why they'd only gone for 750mm treads in these areas (when I think originally they'd been shown as 800 or 850mm). He said that he didn't believe that there would ever be an increased ratio, and that future capacity increases would be most achievable on the side stands. I don't know whether this was just his personal gut feeling, or based on information he was privy to following case-studies carried out on the few safe-standing sections in the country. Or it may have been a quick reaction to my questioning of the smaller 750mm treads, which he possibly thought was a criticism.

I think I remember it being early last year on an interview or podcast that Colin answered the question around expansion and safe standing. Dan meis also said that the concourses are built for additional numbers in the event of safe standing or expansion.

I don't remember him saying that all four roof sections would need changing. The end roofs are goal post truss supported. Presumably these could stay in place and the side upper tiers extended between them (or a new tier), which would need approx 25 rows if it was a straight extenstion. Of course, this would form a step in the signature barrel roof, which might change the whole design aesthetic from rolling Wave to Armadillo, but it might also help to facilitate implementing a full/closing roof. Which could be a step-change in functionality/flexibility too.

Alternatively, negotiating airspace at the North stand might allow a more straight forward expansion there, adding approx 4k with a simpler stand and roof extension. A potential future capacity increase for safe-standing in north and south lower tiers, possibly taking the overall capacity upto 60k.
Yes I think you are correct, might been somewhere eles said that if we wanted to keep the aesthetics all four sides would need lifting. I would have liked the land behind south stand, which would have allowed to build an impressive blue wall.
The north stand as you say is good option, utilities company seem to have spare land we could adopt.

At least a ten year deal as well when they announce the successful bidder. At least that’s what it reads like in the programme notes from Saturday.
You'd imagine TFG will want a say in any deal especially giving the potential longevity of it.

Can't say I trust Kenyon to get the best deal for the club if am honest,I'd rather while until TFG where in situ.

Well that feels like an overreaction. You must be difficult to please.

Is that why you use all the exclamation marks? Full stop just not doing it for you?

Appreciate that design/taste is subjective, but I'd be interested to hear which grounds you think are good. Seeing as you've been to so many. 🤷‍♂️
Tottenham stadium, Emirates, Etihad, Villa Park, Bernabeau, Vicente Calderon, Parkhead, Ibrox, all better, I could name loads more !!
