New Everton Stadium

If Everton get this right then the club should do really well in the future. If I was working at the club I would be speaking to the colour about re painting the cycle lane from town blue, have our logos the whole way.
I would be buying land and property around the ground and re locating the chippys and pubs from around the ground. I went to the Nou Camp years ago and was so surprised that as soon as you walk under the sign saying welcome everything is owned, sold
And ran by Barca. For every pint sold the club takes 20p, for every portion of chips sold the club takes 10p, they should have this marketing hat on now, not in a years time. Hopefully the Friedkin group come in and buy the next dock down.

State of the art compared to Goodison maybe! Seeing the near-complete stadium now it is hard to imagine a better location and linked to the Moshiri haircut those additional costs probably don’t matter now. Let’s hope TFG is the financial equivalent of the Kevin Brock back pass. Time to look forward.

It's certainly state of the art in terms of connectivity and facilities for broadcasting teams/companies. They will LOVE the new stadium.

When looking at other things, moving pitch/roof etc. I would consider those as for a mixed entertainment venue, which it was explicitly stated BMD is not. It is a pure footballing stadium, and is designed/built as such. I don't think we will be playing football indoors on a regular enough basis any time soon.

This could be seen as a missed opportunity though, agreed.

Yes, it was more like an athletics stadium. The new stadium is on the same site.
And I`m glad to see the McDonalds is still there too. The Stadio Della Alpi was the perfect example of a stadium built without the thought of how it would be able to be financially viable in the future. It was an architect let run with a design that was never going to work for the purpose it was built for. The one benefit for us having to wait so long for us to get our new home, is having the benefit of seeing so many new stadiums built all over Europe in the mean time. There have been plenty of white elephant projects, plenty of stadiums that looked great but did n`t but were built in the wrong location, and others that were built far too big for the clubs that built them.
BMD looks fantastic, the location on the waterfront looks great, we just need the people in charge to be able to use it to maximize the income that it can generate and maybe we can then start to rebuild our reputation as being one of the top clubs in the country.

Can't believe people still discussing the capacity. Have any of you been to a match recently? The atmosphere is awful. It's the same for every club. 51k or 62k makes no difference when you're sat in silence.
that could be the football on show, it's basically let the other team have the ball and watch what they do, every so often it comes to one of ours and he hoofs it up and then it's on repeat

My dream capacity was always 61878, from day 1, however it is what it is and it's an absolute stunner.

Moaning about it being this capacity, bland interior, big walls, wind turbines and all manner of other pointless whines are just a waste of energy.

Embrace it.
It's gonna be one of the best stadiums in the whole of football.

And it's ours. 💙
