Well, it's only an Outline Planning application and like I suggested earlier, I expect a lot of it will be subject to partnerships with others such as developers and care providers along with grant funding.I can’t recall tbh, i just rember the renderings and thinking it seemed a bit pie in the sky. The point remains if developers are prepared to spend time and money on something like that, it stands to reason nothing is set in stone regarding what will ultimately become of GP.
I actually thought the proposed scheme was more advanced than it clearly is.Can’t see that getting built imho, think that’s why there’s debate.
All gone very quiet on that front since DBB & Co left the building. The original suggestion looked like it would need several million pounds to complete which EiTC certainly don’t have and the club were never obliged to pay.
Iirc the last posting on any scheme for GP included a proposal for some sort large scale events space using part of the Main Stand that was never in the original scheme.
That developers are putting such proposals forward suggests any ‘plan’ is very much open to change.
I think the club have already made detailed plans for redeveloping the site at Goodison.
It might have been a great idea to keep the site at Goodison, getting rid of all bar the Park end, and then building a new stand with changing rooms on Goodison road. The other two sides could be open and down the road added to as attendances grew. It would be great to keep the site in use as it was the home of the club for so long, and would give the ladies team a home of their own that is steeped in history.
But in reality we were skint before we started building the new ground, have got even more skint as the ground was built, so the last thing we would be thinking of is keeping anything built on the Goodison site which would cost us money for the upkeep of.
There`s a reason that the ladies team play at a small capacity ground, they don`t attract big attendances. Playing at a scaled down Goodison probably won`t add to the attendances, especially if they are not going to challenge for trophies, which would mean it would just become another asset that costs money to keep without contributing much to the club (a bit most of our big signings over the last 6 or so years).
I assume that's top soil going on top of the sand now? I know literally nothing about laying a pitch, however, so I'm sure someone will correct me shortly! Our pitch is definitely 50 Shades of Brown(so far!)
Great Vid, thanks for sharing
Well, with our team, we may as well stay on-brand.Our pitch is definitely 50 Shades of Brown(so far!)
Couldn't disagree more tbh. We can just commission new statues at BMD and will almost certainly do so in the next few years, it's not a case of only having them in one place.….still thinking we’re missing a trick not re-locating the Dixie Dean and Holy Trinity statues on the concourse.
Seems a total waste leaving them where they are. Goodison might have been where their success happened but they are Everton icons and should always be part of our home.
