New Everton Stadium

Someone needs to keep the streets safe Mr tallywacker which is why my new film "Macman" will be in all good cinemas in Spring 2025.

It's a cross between the Equaliser, Columbo, Batman & The Bill with a little bit of Casualty thrown in (guest appearance by Charlie Fairhead from Casualty).

The trailer will be coming out end of the month
Will the screenplay be translated for the overseas market?

Question. Can fans move around the concourses freely (so more can take in the south stand view)? I seem to remember at Wembley for the semi final with utd we had quite a lot of ‘roaming’ within our half of the ground. That memory could be clouded by beer and euphoria mind!
I was reliably told a while ago that it is possible in the sense of the original design allowed it, however Everton may introduce sectioning off to top it occurring.

You could theoretically walk from the South Stand concourse around one of the East or West stands and reach the North, but they talked about installing doors.

Surely not - although unlikely, they can't leave the stadium open for 50,000 to potentially end up crushing each other trying to get a beer at one end of the ground / trying to sit in an empty seat somewhere else.

It works at Wembley and other places with wide concourses though. As long as the amenities are evenly spaced I'm sure not many people would move far although that long bar with the view in the south might become a bit of a magnet

I was thinking of Wembley as an example, and personally I feel that with the intention of the club to draw fans to the ground much earlier and afterwards...

... the limitation of being kept in specific stands would reduce the effectiveness. I do not sit near to the people I drink with before and after the game.

If we can meet at BMD two hours beforehand and drink together, it'll mean the club will get more money from us for ale, food and whatnot - pre and post game.

I suspect, however, it'll be in the fine details of how they could facilitate it, without risking safety and overcrowding.

It would only be the same as most other major venues e.g. Wembley, AO Arena etc.

The seat issue doesn't matter as they will either already be sold out, so you'd be trying to sit in someone else's seat which you don't have a ticket for, OR it wouldn't really matter anyway from a crowd control perspective as the seat isn't occupied.

The hospitality areas will be closed off so there's no issue from people trying to get into those without the relevant ticket.

In terms of the concourses, human dynamics suggest that people aren't just going to queue at a handful of overcrowded concessions while others are less busy.

There is a strong possibility a lot of people will want to go to the Upper South bar, for the view, but i expect that will be a novelty which will wear off; it won't be a consistent issue. Apparently the South Stand concourses have been designed for a larger capacity than they can currently hold anyway, so there should be plenty of room.

I don't think it can be understated just how much bigger Bramley Moore is to Goodison and how much more space we will have on the concourses, even with the increase in supporter numbers.

Space wise, it's like going from a Caravan in Rhyl, to a 6 bedroomed new build in a nice leafy suburb.

We won't know what to do with ourselves with the space and we'll all be walking round like zombies, mouth open, aghast that we don't have to queue for 20 minutes for a pie and a pint

With no excuse but to go back up and watch the footy on the half hour mark.

Is there a view of the Mersey from the North and West Concourses?

Yeah I think it would even itself out over time. The novelty of the view v’s busy bar area will be countered by the ability to get a quick beer/snack elsewhere in the ground. Be interesting to see how they manage it but if I was season ticket holder in the north stand I’d be keen to use the facilities in the South stand on occasion.

plus you can always have a look before (if you're early enough) or after the game.

I've never seen a stadium in Europe where you can gonfrom stand to stand and it's hard to see how it could be allowed as could lead to over capacity issues.

It's common practice in the US (I think except NFL?)
