I miss the Shoalway, hope there’s a picture of it in the new stadium somewhere. Rather that then anything Kenwright relatedAbsolutely incredible! Makes it all seem very real and very close. Seems like only yesterday we were watching that little boat go up and down. Can’t wait until the first game in that stadium. It’s going to be electric!

getting tangled up with the dog walkersSeems like only yesterday we were watching RS kids flying kites with their grandads there.
The amount of dog walkers has dropped significantly too. People travelled for miles to walk them in that abandoned wasteland.Seems like only yesterday we were watching RS kids flying kites with their grandads there.
The newer news is that TFG has already started to look at what life will be like at Everton’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock next season.
To be frank, TFG would not be interested in buying the Premier League side if they were not moving into a new, 53,000-seat venue but Everton’s waterfront property will only transform the club’s fortunes if their owner can really maximise its benefits. And that means turning it into an asset that is used every day, not once a fortnight.
With that in mind, TFG is looking to increase the club’s footprint at the docklands site, most likely by buying the land around Nelson Dock, which is immediately to the south of Bramley-Moore Dock, to create more space for the type of entertainment and leisure offering any venue-operator must provide these days to make the sums add up.
There are also whispers — and that is all they are at present — that TFG might want to increase the stadium’s capacity at some point, which will not be easy given the tight constraints of the site and the design of the £750million building. There is, however, some scope to expand the stadium’s east side but only if there is genuine demand for it, as it would not be cheap.
All that sounds brilliant, but surely they'd have a manufactured crest put somewhere?More like key club flags draped from the many lampposts at BMD just like the walk ups to Goodison.
Maybe projected badges to the stadium sides , can't see them being large manufactured emblems.
Long article, but the salient chunk:
I guess any plans TFG may have are still pretty under wraps, so there's no doubt a lot of half-heard, twice-repeated hearsay at the moment.Unless we start winning stuff, any money would be better off spent adding a roof and perhaps digging down the pitch area to enable it to dissappear into the ground as per Madrid's. That way we create a true multifunctional stadium that can have events on in the fortnight between home games.
It makes absolute sense for them to look at developing around the stadium rather than wait for others to capitalise on it instead.I guess any plans TFG may have are still pretty under wraps, so there's no doubt a lot of half-heard, twice-repeated hearsay at the moment.
It'll be interesting to see what they do do. They are clearly series about infrastructure.
As when Everton came in with the proposal for BMD, Peel will merrily chuck out whatever plans they might have had as soon as someone is willing to do something seriously with Nelson Dock.I think in Peels masterplan they have mainly resi proposed for Nelson Dock, but i think a mixed-use development that has a resi and commercial offering (office, retail, food/drink) would do well, particularly as more of the surrounding area is developed over the coming years.
