New Everton Stadium

Are they planning any test games for the reserves etc in Jan? Seems early to lay the pitch it not. Anfield had a new pitch seeded after concerts done starting in July and it was ready for the start of the season.

My daughter and family are part of liverpool kayak/canoe club in Collingwood dock,
They done a dock clean up on the kayaks around Bmd a couple of months ago and this was the reward,
I got in as a +1 lord be praised
I've got loads of pics an vids but i don't want to mess things up for the kayak club.
Twelve of us on the tour,
Maybe able to post the induction video which is good

buys a wet suit and kayak and turns up*

Personally, it was going from the changing rooms down the corridor through the big glass doors and then we were there pitchside,
Dugouts either side and the stands towering around you,
Gave me shivers down my spine

Meis out, The Binman Chronicles in!

Great work that, and very interesting results.

I wonder why Everton didn't do that, or I wonder why was the no. of rows in the South Stand reduced from 68 to 60 when it's clearly not due to the overall heigh. Surely a closer roof to the stand wouod have been better too.

Thanks. It was interesting to me just to see how many rows could fit in by straightening the glass. There are probably lots of reasons, chiefly cost, and it definitely will look better on camera the way it is. Being able to see into the stadium from the outside and the sparkle effect off the water too, wouldn't be able to do either in that larger version.

Perhaps we were just limited with the number of people that can safely pass through the site, until we're able to exit either side of Nelson dock, so that limited the capacity to what it was plus a bit more for increased safe standing ratios?

I still don't think the South stand will ever be redeveloped, but in the process of altering the drawings I have realised it might not be as big a job as I once thought it was.

the Clan McLoud?! sorry :)
that must have been great! thanks for the update.

For a bit of fun I was able to add 9 more rows and extend the corners up a touch, whilst keeping the roof the same. It's roughly 4m taller with an extra capacity of around 2500.

Of course it would mean we lose the reflection from Nelson dock with the glass vertical.

Whether the supporting structure can take the extra weight is a different conversation altogether.

Yes, this would've been better. Obviously more capacity, plus also getting more fans closer to the roof for better acoustics. This doesn't appear to be the as-built cross section. I think the super-riser is higher in reality, with 27 rows in the lower, but that probably doesn't matter as regards adding more rows to the rear as you suggest.
