Are they planning any test games for the reserves etc in Jan? Seems early to lay the pitch it not. Anfield had a new pitch seeded after concerts done starting in July and it was ready for the start of the season.

If they were finished with any work that would need to encroach on the playing area they might as well get it down. It will at least quieten those doubters that say that the pitch wont fit inside the ground.
