New Everton Stadium

My recollections agree but that period dominated by the Mordor lot grates big time. Defo should have won the League Cup in 77 and Gordon Lee's teams were close at times just not quite!

Robbed at Maine Road too, If Hamilton's goal would have stood!

I think you are right, it was all overshadowed by that lot!

Some of my fave players are from that era, Gary Jones, Duncan McKenzie, Dave Thomas and Ronnie Goodlass, of course Bob Latch and Andy King, always wanted to be Dai Davies too hahah, my early idols!
My fledgling years when they lulled me in, gave me the 80s, then...

You know the rest 😡

I think BMD will be a big thing for supporters in different ways. I personally have over 23 years so will probs get the seat I want but will I get the team I want to watch.

I think like a number of other ST holders we are holding on for the moves BMD and an improvement otherwise I will be giving someone else the opportunity to suffer.

I like lots of others have invested annually for entertainment and have not been entertained, quite the opposite in fact. They will now want more of my hard earned and the time to give back is now!!!!!

We won more trophies at Goodison than we will ever win at BMD in my opinion.

If we dont start winning at the new ground are you going to want to move again as there is no happy memories?
How do you know we won't win anything at the new ground?

And none of us on here will see us move again, as it will be in around 100 years

Anyone else happy to see the back of Goodison ??!

Feels like its been a place of misery for around 30 years, barley remember anything good at the place.

Just been asked by TNT Sports to do a segment that'll be on before the Merseyside Derby talking about Goodison Park and specific derby day memories.

Be arsed with that. Id be like;

Probably. But your last statement is a bit OTT.

We have more chance of winning trophies at BMD than if we stay at Goodison. This brings us back to the handful of clubs that we aspire to be measured against. In 80 years time, if BMD is no longer fit for purpose then we may well move again. You'd hope a bigger stadium could be built on the site though.

Unless you are over 40, you've never really experienced the good times at Goodison, so people are valid in their arguments. We've won nothing AND the stadium has regressed from one of the best in the country to one of worst in terms of income generation and facilities. This has aided in our downturn.

If Goodison was fit for purpose and generated income comparable to our rivals, then we would be staying, despite the results and the nigh on 30 years of sad memories.

Its more aimed at people saying goodison is nothing but misery the last 10 years. But what happens if we dont improve the next 10 years at BMD. Will these people then not like BMD cos of the results.

I’m 32 and been a season ticket holder for 26 years.. I can’t see any less trophy wins than I have up to now 🤣 so out with the old and in with the new as far as i’m concerned. Will look back on Goodison with fond memories but excited to look forward and make new ones.

No, I'm gonna be gutted at that last game. It's a place where I've spent so much of my life with friends and family and I genuinely still get a buzz every time I walk up the steps and see the Bullens Road stand opposite me (that buzz quickly goes when we start playing like).

That said, I'm really excited for BMD and think it looks amazing. Will be nice to have some decent facilities in the concourses too.
