New Everton Stadium

I'm not on twitter, so haven't seen the reaction. I would imagine that many expected at least a bit more than a 3 to 3.5k increase for a 53k stadium.

With the increase in corporate capacity, this looks like a total of just less than 40k season tickets (including corporate/hospitality). Leaving approx 10-11k matchday tickets (which also may include a few hundred hospitality).

This was probably always going to be the case for a whole new build. The club feel that they have a solid surplus demand, and can squeeze the fanbase for those more expensive matchday tickets. Whether or not that surplus exists at those increased ticket prices is yet to be seen. Whether or not they'll regret not securing more season ticket holders to get beyond the new stadium effect and novelty years, is also to be seen.

More people moaning about the size of the ground, as too many are missing out....which begs the question, how big would it have needed to be, for EVERYONE to get a ST, and nobody to moan.

My view is that not everyone on the waiting list would take up the option when it comes, and I think many are on the list so they can say, they are on the list.

That has to be challenged. Forcing people to pay for a membership in case they get offered a ticket.
Or as the club see it, giving existing members a priority for their membership fee. So if any ST holder has a blue friend or family member earmarked for a future game (and we are running out of games), to avoid disappointment make sure you are aware of what needs to be in place.
It’s all down to demand for home games. Next season at Bramley Moore they may lift this rule and go back to being able to allocate a spare to anyone.

My fear is that over a period of time ST will hit a price that will price people out - especially people who have kids

Yes you’re right about giving members priority. But I wouldn’t hold my breath about them lifting it any time soon now it’s been introduced.

I would suggest that is less likely to happen at EFC than at other clubs. We just don't have an endless supply of fans from all over the shop. Most of our fan base is local to the Liverpool area, Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales, Lancashire. That's not to say we don't have great fans from lots of other places, but nowhere near the numbers the likes of LFC, Arsenal, Man have. I think it would be foolish for the new owners to take the mickey with the prices. They'll just end up with empty seats.

It's draconian again it's only what I've heard, I don't want to believe it either, if it is I'm sure the fans will have something to say about it.
It's rough on the average fan. But at some point season ticket holders will demand more than a Jack Harrison loan signing and a Dyche at the Helm. All gonna cost money unfortunately.
