New Everton Stadium

The whole point of the stadium is to put us in a position where we can invest in the playing side year on year without having to sell our key stars. The stadium is the only thing that can make this happen for us. No investor will come in to solely buy us new players, there is no return on investment in that.

It should be put on the back burner for the next 4 weeks then it can become our primary focus.

We should be progressing on both fronts. The people who will be working on signings will not be the same people working on the stadium. Thanks to BK we have 2 decades of catch up to do on all fronts. This stuff about leaving the stadium while we concentrate on the team needs to be kicked into the long grass. Let's hope we hear about the dock site before Christmas.

I have no doubt we are progressing on both fronts, however I also think the club are having as much trouble persuading Peel Holdings that a football stadium is the sort of catalyst they would want for the future development of the docks, as they are in persuading top class players that we are capable of competing for trophies.

I really don't see how a football stadium on an outlying dock, which is used once every 2 weeks for 9 months, would attract bars and restaurants to set up there. More likely some greasy spoon popups once a fortnight!

Liverpool Waters is envisaged to be mixed use regardless of whether a stadium is there or not. Offices and apartments will complement the bars/restaurants

I'm reading that the stadium could be used as a stimulus for the entire project.

...so Stonebrigde Cross it is with a stadium design that will make the Kirkby project look like Taj Mahal in comparison.... Moshiri is just another Kenwright

steve rotherham(corbynite) has just been selected as labour candidate(so almost certainly winner) for liverpool city region mayor

possible stadium repercussions??

No reason to worry because he's a Red but He'll also remain the MP for Walton. Conflict of interests really you would have thought. On one hand he won't want Everton to leave Walton but helping deliver a new stadium would be part of being the metromayor.

....I've just noticed that on the Sky News banner. I suspect much will be depend on the timing of the election and how far advanced our progress is. Rotherham is a big Red but you would hope that doesn't stall the process.
