New Everton Stadium

If yiu look

If you look at the west stand where the lazy boy seats will be just under the middle hospitality is, that area is even soaked, wouldn't want to be paying a crazy pr8ce for a season ticket if you are going to get wet in that area, I know a certain amount of seats are open to the elements but not that far back?

Precisely, it is a design flaw. A lot of the last generation of high-roofed stadia suffer similarly. We should've learned from them. The roof lines literally are just above the front rows. They should've been extended by at least 10m to reduce this effect. Bilbao had to retrofit an extended cable net roof, because the lower tier got soaked and the fans just filled the concourse spaces at their waterfront stadium. The next generation of stadia will be closed or retractable roof designs. At £750m we probably should've been too. A large proportion of the lower tier is far too over-exposed. I'm glad that there are corporate down to pitchside.... maybe that way, this will be addressed at some point.

Great vid, as usual.

I know this has been asked before but, as LOR have officially handed over now, I'll ask again, is there going to be a screed or render on the flat roof areas? It just looks so incongruous with the bare concrete in comparison with the rest of the stadium. They've done it on the media centre, so I'm assuming it will be done.
They have started the base for the screed on the South East corner of the roof.

If was posted weeks ago there is a dark grey screed going over that & the rest of the stadium.
Not sure on the timeliness for it tho.

If the Friedkins really mean business they'll retro fit a retractable roof and dig down the pitch area to create a space for it to fold away into. Our stadium then becomes the largest indoor arena in England, available every other weekend (mostly).

Row B TB and the rain was hitting us. Get over yourself

Strange, I was in the front row TB on Sunday.... don't remember feeling a drop, even when it went wild, certainly didn't get soaked. My son was in our normal seats Park End row P didn't either. Several predicted this when the first cross sections were revealed. No reason to get over anything.

Or the retractable roof changes into four massive traffic cones when it's retracted.

Don't you mean, they'd retrofit the stadium so the pitch fits? Or is that an issue any more?

In the high number seats and the rain hit us. Doesn’t happen often

Even the directors area is wet, looks design fault to me, can't have the directors getting wet. Looks they have messed up with the roof to me.
