I have to disagree.I agree. But my other points still stand.
Bus routes show plenty of options. Trains are approximately double the existing. And it’s actually walkable from the city centre.

The only difference is the Southport service means 12 rather than 8 trains into town per hour. But if you are going to Southport, Hunts X, Ormskirk, Headbolt Lane then there's no change its still 4 services per hour.I have to disagree.

It will take more than 7 minutes to walk it from Melbourne that’s for sure. How many tracks does Sandhills have. In Melbourne, which TBH manages a number of large events at the same time. Part of the way the do this especially around Melbourne cup and music festivals is to run special trains between the main station and the local station, I think they’d run 3 at a time and they just go back and forth, before the event and after, it works well
Some of those businesses have got pretty big yards, I'll be surprised if they dont open them up on matchdays and make a few bob
Sandhills is an island platform on a viaduct . Used to be 3 or 4 platforms ( before my time ) now only the two. I guess it's at capacity with 12 trains per hour each way on weekdays. ,but only half that on Sundays. How many tracks does Sandhills have. This is precisely why we need to see what the plans are. If they are insufficient, we need to make our opinions known. That makes entitled, moaning, 'arl arses, apparently.I agree , Sundays is a problem but on weekdays there are trains about every five minutes through the bottleneck known as Sandhills . Anyone can see there is no scope to enlarge the station but Merseyrail could put on more carriages . I was at Kirkdale for the Chelsea game and it was chaos , expect the same for Forest this Sunday. Merseyrail seem reluctant to increase capacity except for Aintree Races.

Not exactly. Right now, people using the train split between Sandhills (Soccerbus), Kirkdale and Bank Hall. With BMD, it’s Sandhills and at a push Moorfields. The only difference is the Southport service means 12 rather than 8 trains into town per hour. Melbourne has a very centralised sporting infrastructure though, doesn’t it? It’s easier to have good links when you’re serving this many venues in one go.How many tracks does Sandhills have. Some of the road closures i've heard mentioned for match days would make getting a car anywhere near the ground an issue.W
I can't see any reason why Peel won't rent out to fans the carpark spaces which have been used by the construction workers over the last few years. I don't think parking will be as much as an issue as some think. There are plenty of businesses round about, too.

Save the fuss. Take the soccer bus.
It's not the distance that matters particularly- there will be no winners in terms of fans with the parking issue.Or just don't go if it's too much bother!![]()
For some moving away from Goodison will make getting to the ground a bit harder, for others it will be easier. We are taking about a distance of about a mile and a half. It's not a deal breaker and everyone will need to adjust to the new routine. If everyone goes in with an open mind then you might actually find by the x game at BMD that it's neither here nor there the extra or less you have to travel.
