New Everton Stadium

What are you expecting exactly for little investment?
I would like to think that the two points I made could be achieved without increasing costs.

There seems to be a trend for recent stadium design to move away from the traditional style of stadium but that is something I would personaly resist.

It doesn't have to be ground breaking design as long as it looks neat and tidy on the outside - on the inside is were it counts and I want the opposition to feel 50,000 blues snarling down their necks.

I for one would want an open interior so you can walk the whole way round. Plenty to see and do, club shops inside, decent food and drink places, decent toilets. Id love a family only section to take the kids in. Because to be honest, some adults are vile at the match. Similar to the Echo Arena would do me. Times change, its about the facilities and revenue now.

Being able to get a drink or some food at half time and not miss 5 minutes of each half anywhere other than one stand would be a nice start...

It needs to be operational 24/7 really, not a facility used once a fortnight.

The new stadium for York will be good when its built, only a small stadium but a multifunctional complex.

Completely understand why you would want this and let's be honest this is the minimum any club in the top flight should be providing.

It just isn't my own personal priority - the above would be nice to have but it isn't what I go the match for.

I want a stadium that rocks when we are pushing for the winner against the RS.

A stadium that other teams dread playing at because they feel like the fans could reach out and throttle them they're that close.

A stadium that I can grow to love and create memories that I can pass on to my son when he's older and hopefully grandkids.

In fact let's just paint the outside of Goodison and have done with it.

It doesn't matter what Bill Kenwright does because he will get slated by a percentage of the support base regardless. The same is true of every club. There will always be a reason to criticise.
The club is in a better place now than it has been in the last twenty five years , but BK will not be given any credit by some.

I believe we will get a stadium, but for many that won't be enough , it will be the wrong, shape, size or colour. It will be owned by the council or Tesco or somebody else and that will be a good enough reason to bitch.

But, I believe we will get a new stadium, the overwhelming majority will go there and support the team. They will miss Goodison ,as I will, the Grand Old Lady of British football. But unfortunately it is not fit for purpose anymore

Initially , I think the deal will be some kind of lease with ownership transferring gradually over time.
I go to lots of games and to different stadia. I am more interested in the team I follow rather than the ground they play in.
Any new stadium will take time to build up a bank of memories that Goodison has. But if a new stadium helps us to continue
to progress I will take that.
For some...there will be the added bonus that a new stadium will increase the chances that new owners/investors will come and they will then
have to find a whole new figure of hate after BK is gone.

Yes. Only way a club can quickly recoup the expenditure. Concerts, clubs, community projects, night classes, gymnasium, entertainment facilities, functions, weddings, etc.

A stadium needs to be in use by the community almost all the time these days and, if it is done right, it is certainly possible.

But you must have a solid vision and infrastructure and you must be a significant draw for the local people. We have that.
