New Everton Stadium

Saying all that I'm worried the game may be postponed given the state of the pitch and the weather at the moment. No way will they risk the pitch at this stage. Personally I'm happy to wait a few more weeks having already waited 40 yrs for a new stadium!

Risk the pitch ? In what way is the pitch risked by one 90 minute game ? There'd have to be a ridiculous combination of events to damage a pitch that really isn't doing a lot until August.

United are getting serious investment for the surrounding infrastructure by old Trafford to potentially get a 100k stadium.

Feel like we missed the boat on this with having Rotherham as the metro mayor as opposed to who he wants to be, Andy Burnham.

Where are the freight trains going to go though?

I read something by Henry Winter, saying public money would only be used on the surrounding infrastructure, not the ground itself.

He rightly pointed out that Everton would be looking closely at that if we wanted to develop rail links to BMD. If they get public money, why shouldn't we (and other clubs too).

But of course everyone loves United, don't they?

The club wouldn't develop rail links that would be Mersey Travel.

The difference is that United will need the rail lines diverted to build what they want to build, where they want to build it. The nearest comparison would be if we ad asked the Govt. to pay for us filling in the dock (but even that would be a stretch).

In my opinion, if it is their choice to build the stadium in a particular location, then they should cover the costs to ensure it is suitable, as we did. If they can't, find somewhere that they can afford.

I love that badge.
no don’t change the badge!
Yeh, I love the badge. But they try to change it in 2013 for a more 'simplistic' approach, and it lasted a year due to the backlash. The article also states that we won't be going back to Umbro next year. So not too sure what's going on here. Unless we have already got a kit supplier lined up, and we have requested this?

Rotherham is a waste of space... more arsed about getting freebies of the scum across the park anything benefitting the city and our club is he arsed not really...oh and he's thick

Are you thinking of GFE's scheme that was drawn up by Ward McHugh? If so, these are archived in Toffeeweb:

There are some images in the index. It's over 25yrs old now, so the rendering quality isn't great.

Thanks Tom, I might be wrong but that's not the one I have in my mind. I'm sure it was a rough drawing of what it would like it and it looked a bit more like Ibrox and not Boltons stadium.

That's spot on though and really interesting.

The only other image I can remember the club publishing in the 90s was during the Johnson era, when they produced an architect's Pen and Ink drawing.... but that was for a stadium in or near Kirkby.
