New Everton Stadium

I did like this one that came about a couple of months ago.

I like the scale and bulk of the Lucas Oil Stadium but that's about it. It just doesn't do it for me as a football stadium. I'd much prefer something futuristic and modern on the banks of the Mersey.

That's not to be confused with "being spoilt" or "turning the Lucas Oil Stadium down" as some are saying. It's just my personal preference and at the end of the day we will get what we're given.

Let's be honest, who would have thought this would have been even the slimmest of possibilities a year or so ago. It's not built yet but it certainly looks like it going to happen.

Yes I agree, I'll be disappointed if it was like Lucas Oil one. It seems more like an sports arena than an English intimidating football ground.

Im sorry but I still have difficulties to believe that we can have Dock Site for our stadium. It would be too good to be true, maybe thats why im so careful on this matter.

It needs to be the premier multi-event venue of the North West alongside the Etihad. I think we'll have to compromise a bit on it being an old-school bearpit.

I'd personally rather not compromise. I would rather make it the best footy ground in the world. It's not up to me though.

I'm trying to think what other requirements the stadium would need to make it multi functional but would cause a compromise? What can you think of?

That great big swimming pool in the middle wouldn't help like.........

Broad concourses, restaurants/bars/clubs, softer aesthetics from your average football ground. Fully enclosed inside for optimal acoustics.

Not huge sacrifices to make.

First reaction seeing the lucas oil stadium was "ugh", but the more I've looked at it since the more I can see it blending in with the docks - although personally I would prefer our stadium to stand out - not blend in.

Whatever design we use it needs to be iconic and as other posters have mentioned, be immediately recognizable throughout the world. Exciting times though.

Wider concourses shouldn't affect the inside of the stadium so I wouldn't say that was a compromise.
I was thinking of restaurants and functions as well that would be combined with the executive boxes so you could overlook the stadium I'd imagine. I'd prefer to keep them to the sides rather than around the whole stadium. Saying that I don't think the Lucas Oil stadium has corporates around the whole stadium.
