New Everton Stadium

The iconic skyline is some distance away from Bramley dock, you wouldn't of thought it would enter most images/pictures of the traditional Liverpool waterfront........or am i being greedy?

True this, the skyline argument is one that Kopites will try and use but lets face it, the ground is going to be closer to those new cranes than it is the Liver Buildings, near some big concrete silos, was anyone worried about the Skyline then?
If anything we are looking at an area of the docks that a residential development would be a white elephant on, Peel should be paying us to take it off there hands!

Why would the club just say "yeah He's right", when it's up to them to announce it, probably want to do a presentation on it, and probably haven't signed off half of what needs to be signed off. How many times have the club been burnt by stadium talk now? Why risk that again until every is signed sealed and delivered?

Agree. Spurs drawing up new stadium plans to be able to host NFL, with Populous taking over from KSS was generally known a few months before it was announced. Every ITK connected with the stadium was saying so. Any mention of it in the press, however, was met by denials from Spurs. I can find denials from Spurs about this as late as April 2015, and in July 2015 we revealed full plans for a new stadium with NFL and Populous as the architect. lol

Things can change, but I reckon trusting ITKs with good track records is the way to go.

The other thing I wanted to say after reading the last few pages is, even if the council and the club have been working closely together on this for a while, doesn't necessarily mean spades will be in the ground soon. I know from our own experience planning issues raised by heritage groups, businesses fighting CPOs etc can snowball. Things which you think won't take long to resolve can take ages. Even if the council is behind it, the Secretary of State can call it in and it our case it sat with Eric Pickles for a full 18 months before he finally approved. It might be completely smooth and sail through planning and not get called in, but things never seem to be that simple.

Your situation is totally different to ours, with respect.

No two situations are the same, but what makes you think Everton would be immune to these things? I mean, even before anything has been revealed, we're already hearing squeals from people who don't want docks infilled, from UNESCO etc. If they make enough noise that this gets called in it could easily stall until the SoS has had his say.

With respect, UNESCO have no say whatsoever on what happens on the docks, they can threaten to remove WHS but it's up to LCC as to whether they're remotely bothered about that (they aren't as the investment is worth much more to them). The land itself has had outline planning approved for residential commercial, retail and recreational/social already when purchased by Peel, which was a factor in early UNESCO threats of removal, so as long as there is not a drastic change to the land usage it is unlikely it will be called in by the government and will be left to local council to make decision.

If as suggested it is Bramley-Moore Dock, looking at this on satellite google maps, it does not look to be large enough. There also seems to be too many businesses on nearby wharves.

Does anyone else have any doubts on this being the site?

Not being funny mate but I would imagine they have considered it being large enough to fit a stadium on. BM is clearly a strong contender. Too much noise for that not to be the case.

Didn't one of those businesses that wouldn't move mysteriously burn down..........

Not to me Brennan. The waterworks is about 100 meters north of the northern B-M wharf, To the south is Nelson Dock then Collingwood and onto Trafalgar. Seems to me to be too much water around, so how much land could we actually create. Comes down to what dock is being bought but to build a stadium surrounded on three sides by water does not look good.

It is very tight indeed which is what I was getting at and Peel are still letting parts out which is concerning me.

Lets are by their definition limited duration.

The existing warehouses do not look state of the art and haven't exactly been built recently.

Nothing too concerning to me.

Also in terms of 'tightness' Think that is overstated as well.

Look at a satellite image of the docks Mate, that tells different story.
