New Everton Stadium

Based on what Chris said does it sound self contained to you? Who buys a plot of land next to sewage treatment factory to cater for up to 50k corporate and customer based clientele?
Not sure about any smell coming from sewage works, Ive not noticed it anyway. But you can definitely smell the molasses down there on occasions. Have strong memory as a kid When Tate & Lyle was still open, the smell from it would cover the city centre at times.

We don't know that they aren't. We also don't know that it is in fact coming from the plant. As others have mentioned, the smell of molasses can be quite strong down there. Extensive tests have been run on plant that matches the tech used at UU and have found that there is no need for further odour elimination than what the kit supplies. However, it would become up to them to prove if it was challenged, if it isn't being....
The smell that is pungent in that area on certain days does not smell like Richard III's though does it. Wchih leads myself to think it's not the err Chocolate Factory which should cause concern, but the molasses as you say. So who is it down there that make molasses?

Cheers, Ted.

Don't think it's made down there Terry, think it's shipped into United Molasses in Seaforth then moved on. Anyway back to the footy, sadly.

Oh now I see thanks. Well my point is that a lot of us are worrying about smells eminating from sewerage works when in fact, the offending pong comes from elsewhere.

And hey no, it's not my Mrs growler before you ask heehee.

Just joking.

Thanks.

You need three things for terraces to be safe

1) a well-designed safe standing system
2) football clubs and authorities to consider the fan's well-being as more important than money
3) policing at football matches to be based on the concept of serving the public rather than considering fans to be scum and the enemy

Germany have all three and it works well. The UK would just have the first and problems would never be far away
I fail to see what is so fundamentally different between safe standing seats, and the seating we have now. Go to an existing seat, don't sit down - that's effectively all safe standing is, with a handrail in front.

So why would there be such objection?
