New Everton Stadium

Standing in stadiums is a bit of a 'touchy' subject (as we all know).
The best night of my life (apart from getting married...sshhh not really) started in the Street End watching us against Bayern.
Think I had about 4 + different viewing spots because of the surges. It was so much better than when there was a bit of a tight squeeze in the paddock against 'some team, can't even remember who'.
For me, standing was about the ebb and flow of the game and if you sanitise it, then what's the point?

Because tens of thousands of people want to stand at football matches up and down the country & it's much much safer that standing in an area which is designed for seating.

Or a child.......

Very true, but hopefully they would have rules against under 16's being in that area. I think the rail would be the least of their problems, in standing mode, imagine a 5ft or less a row behind a person of 6'6" or more. The angle of the stand would have to be pretty steep to allow them any kind of view.

In the past the smaller lads would find their way to the front of the terrace but the whole point is you are assigned an area just like having a seat. Standing is not for all of our fan base, that's why at most (& if the club even allow it) only one end should have these kind of rail seats.

I think that this is much of the issue. It's very difficult to put across the feeling of a family club, inclusive to all if you have restrictions of access to a particular group. Everton have made great strides and advances in order to attract the younger generation of the city and surrounding areas, it would be highly unlikely they would start restricting their access. Imo.

That's an incredibly huge leap, we are talking about 10% of the ground at the absolute most.

You wouldn't need to restrict any Access, a parent can choose whether or not they want to take a child into the rail seating area. In fact the issue about children not being able to see due to people standing would be vastly better off with rail seating in place as you would have a lot less people standing in seating areas and blocking people's view.

That's just it - we've had a decent window.

Ok maybe we didn't spend the (never officially stated) £100m but Williams is good, Bolasie may be decent, that goalie isn't too shabby, and Gana is the bees knees.

We had a crap deadline day.

IMO the club did all it could regarding the other hoped for signings but not to be this time. However I am glad we missed out on Sissoko.
