New Everton Stadium

these days, more people packing into the ground means more parking woes outside - this should be considered.
Back in the day, everyone got the bus/tram or just legged it:

18th September 1948
Goodison Park
Everton 1 v Liverpool 1
Attendance 78,299
The proposed mono rail I'd expect to have a lot of pick up / drop off points to alleviate car congestion. Wear a raincoat though...some of the shuttles will reportedly get a little 'sticky'

Unfortunately you may well be right.
Stonebridge would be an acceptable choice except for the nightmare of trying to get home afterwards. These "easy access for the motorway" grounds are all difficult to get away from - try getting away from Bolton or Reading with crowds of less than 20,000, for example.
It's also what made Kirkby a non-starter.

Absolutely correct, it is old school thinking that places stadiums next to a motorway junction.

Placing them in areas with good public transport acces and improving the existing infrastructure is the best way imo

The longer this goes with no official announcement the more I feel suspicious.

The club were very quick to down play the mayors positive spin. People are also claiming it's very well advanced. So why no announcements?

It all smells like a usual everton propaganda job. We will drag it out for ages and then cry victim and that we were so unlucky and tried oh so very hard to make the docks work. But alas we just couldn't make it work. Through no fault of the club tho.

And then bang we will be at stonebridge cross.
There are drawn up stadium plans. Just believe that things are happening.

We just need some of these massive Chinese buses, they fit 1200 people on them and go over the existing traffic, we just need these running along the dock road!

Yes, but that one division dwarfs all the others put together.
Why this obsession with standing? If it's a yearning for the golden days of yesteryear, then what next - back to bear-baiting maybe?
Notice how every time the ball gets near the opposition goal, everyone is edging out of their seats? Standing is the natural stance for real sporting support. Starts with the folk round the edge of a Sunday league match, and goes right to the top.

When watching the game on TV down the pub, doesn't standing just feel more...right?

With due respect though that's nothing to do with what you said though. You said no British government would ever sanction it, well they already do at the vast majority of football grounds.

again rail seating is nothing to do with the past so your example is both strange and totally pointless.

Just watching Sweden v Holland, that friends arena Sweden play in looks quite good on the inside. Kind of like a mini millennium stadium. Not too fussed how it looks on the outside but it seems that the seats are all close to the pitch.

Never really understood this. We are never going back to the "way it was". I enjoyed it but it's gone and so called rail seating/standing will never be anything like it used to be, so what's the point

And what would be the problem with that. It would still be in a new stadium in Liverpool. Bayern's ground is often held up as an example of what we should be aiming for, it is in the middle of nowhere.

It's not meant to be like the way it was that is the point, It's something totally different. Its safer than standing in seated areas for a start, and we are talking about a small section of one stand in all likelihood. If you don't like it then you could sit in the other 90% of the stadium.

Don't agree with you on this one Stan, I think the docks would be a nightmare to get away from. Not for meself like, a 30 -40 minute stroll,
