New Everton Stadium

He knows what's going on, but hes talking out if his rear if he thinks that a stadium will be ready in 2 years. Start on site, maybe......

I think we can agree that any new stadium will not be ready in 2 years, however contrary to the nah sayers on here i think we will be in a new stadium too many people seem to be saying the same thing.

But again after whats happened in the past i do understand people's scepticism

An initial S.I. may have been carried out by the present landowners, but as you say a more detailed investigation would be required depending on the type of construction to be built

I think it's a clever tactical move by Joe Anderson to plant the idea of a two-year timescale in everyone's mind. Whether this is possible or not I'm not sure, but forcing this along from the Mayor's office will hopefully keep up the momentum.
It will take the combined will of Everton, the Mayor, Liverpool City Council and Peel Holdings to make this happen. The more positive statements of intent emanating from these sources, the better.

Genuinely not surprised to hear about the problems with the Olympic Stadium for West Ham. Not the fighting obviously, but the sight lines and the problems in making it suitable for football.

The fact that's it's a new stadium isn't the issue. It's just not a football stadium. I'd say they will have loads of empty seats within a couple of years once the novelty wears off.

Not sure two years to build is totally out of the question. The millennium stadium in Cardiff took just over two years with the problems of accessing such a large site in the centre of Cardiff which has got the greatest access routes.

People trying to catch Esk out by using semantics....

This has already been explained umpteen times in multiple different posts.

Esk believes the club has a deal agreed in principle, not yet signed so not yet on land registries, but dependent on getting all the associated enabling and regeneration projects. You can look at it in different ways - it's not on land registries so technically they haven't 'secured' it, but at the same time, they are believed to have an agreement in place dependent on other stuff, which is half the battle getting a tentative agreement with Peel.
I assure you I am not trying to catch anyone out. I am trying to get some sort of clarity on this extremely important issue.

So let me rephrase in a way that is more transparent. Do we have a deal with Peel or not? If we do, is it contractually binding?

I said nothing about 'in principle' I said the information I received was that we completed on or around 18th August.

Land Registry registrations can take several months to appear particularly if there's a redrawing of title boundaries which occurs when someone acquires part of an existing piece of land or property.
So we have bought this land?
