New Everton Stadium

So, we'll have ticketing info sooner rather than later I was thinking about safe standing and/or increased capacity.

For the south lower, will they sell the safe seating with a caveat that should the law change then their spec will change (as in less room not the actual location)? If they are really serious about increasing the capacity of that area shouldn't they be making people aware?

And I think all the south stand should be standing personally, so on a similar theme will those in the upper be sold seats with a warning it may become a safe standing area (I know there's currently no plans for this)? This second point could easily be directed to the north lower also.

Just thinking if any of those scenarios happened it may be difficult to move people who didn't like the change(s) elsewhere.
Every stand has apparently disabled access . So I couldn’t see them booting out disabled access seats for a whole block to be standing in few years time. You’ve got to include everyone.

Good points.

Re the upper South Stand, they can have rail seats same as the lower, but they can't then progress to safe standing due to its steeper gradient.

Tottenham added about 10 rows of rail seats to the very back of theirs, Everton should definitely do so too.

Is that correct? It's the same gradient as the lower isn't it? Just there is the 'super riser' between the two due to the lower standing and upper being seated.

Yes, I'm pretty sure that the whole stand is a single gradient, even with the riser (unless this has changed since the original documents?)

Large Stands usually have 2 or 3 different gradients, shallower to steeper. I'd expect this would be no different? It's to do with sightlines.
Sightlines would be exactly the same if the gradient was constant. That being said, maybe there is a slight difference in the upper and lower. The Green Guide recommends a max of 25 degrees for safe standing but the lower Tier is definitely steeper than that. Think we're somewhere inbetween 2 and 3 on the below.

Not seen them pics before, thanks for posting thrm. I don't get why no 2 is saying standing lower at 32 degrees when hes even wrote 25 degrees max steepness?

I have just assumed that the lower is shallower than the upper, so I might be wrong. I know 25 degrees is max for safe standing but there is no max for standing in rail seats, but then he's put treads down as 350mm in no2, which is safe standing treads?

If you have a constant gradient that also means maximum height and distance from the pitch meaning fans are just further away. Steepness is just an illusion of closeness.

The 25 degrees is just a GreenGuide recommendation. The British Standard doesn't suggest anything so there's technically no legislation (as far as i am aware) that prevents standing being steeper than that.

Judging by the height of the riser that's been built I expect the south stand is closer to Option 2 on that image because it's certainly nowhere near 4m high as suggested by Option 3.

I think you're probably right in that the lower section isn't as steep but i don't believe there is much difference from the upper.

The upper appears to be 34 degrees. The lower I expect is between 32 and 33.
