New Everton Stadium

Im very conflicted with it, enjoyed all those halcyon days in the 80s, saw some dire stuff 70s and 90s but I still love the buzz it gives me rocking up, especially in the footsteps my family have trodden, but at the same time BMD is so exciting a prospect and hopefully the stepstone we need to launch us back up to the top table again. Goodison is tired and metaphorically speaking too, it will be an enormous wrench but one tinged with hope and expectation, lets hope it gives us what we want!

Will still be there, last match, ticket or not nad take an emotional walk inside or outside just as a small homage to what it has provided, the good, the bad and the Dyche!

The 70's were not nearly as bad as made out. We would have qualified for the Champions League under Gordon Lee, was it twice? Should have won a cup in '77, the league in 74/75 and played some great football around 77-79. Even started the decade as champions. I'd give my right arm for a 1970's over the next decade. I think the reason why that decade is looked down on is because it was the decade when that crowd became a bigger club than us. They certainly never were before then.

My recollections agree but that period dominated by the Mordor lot grates big time. Defo should have won the League Cup in 77 and Gordon Lee's teams were close at times just not quite!

Robbed at Maine Road too, If Hamilton's goal would have stood!

I think you are right, it was all overshadowed by that lot!

Some of my fave players are from that era, Gary Jones, Duncan McKenzie, Dave Thomas and Ronnie Goodlass, of course Bob Latch and Andy King, always wanted to be Dai Davies too hahah, my early idols!

This goes beyond pinching food and ale.
Few years ago I witnessed a lad on our coach walk out of the services with a Scalextric set ffs. 😂
On the way to the 95 Cup final my dad shoplifted one of those giant gorillas with the boxing gloves on from Keel Services. About a metre tall this thing was. Tucked it under his arm and casually strolled out with it while the shop descended into chaos as several coach loads piled in.
