When are they out?

I have an Xbox (which it turns out doesn't play Blu-Ray...) and I am considering breaking the habit of a lifetime and buying a game.

Always been a Pro Evo man but am thinking of doing the dirty and turning to Fifa. The last Pro Evo I played was a bit crap, there was a lack of effort for the Everton team, things like Neville being faster than Vaughan, Lescott being right footed and Arteta being turd.

It seems Fifa has taken over critically and more people seem to be jumping on board it.

I like Fifa but Im a Pro Evo man. I think both Fifa and Pro have pro's and cons. I think there is more individuallity in the teams and players in Pro, always has been, than Fifa. But Fifa has better AI, lisences, cups etc, better online mode.

But this years Pro seems to have improved the most. There seems to be more options this year - Europa League, Champs League, masterleague that you can control youth and reserve teams, in game tactical and individual changes, better graphics (I do think the individual characters on Pro are better than Fifa graphically).

But Fifa doesnt have to fix whats not broken. But there are some annoying things on Fifa for me - cant save replays onto harddrive, when you've sussed how to score the games cracked, kick and run football is better than doing any tricks that dont work anyway to beat players...

But online is where its at nowdays, and Pro is lacking.

Earlier reports are saying Pro have gone back to form, the graphics look perfect on players. And I do love the edit mode on the games (spend hours on it).

But Fifa is out earlier so......

It comes down to personal preferences rather than which is best.

You can always swap them if you dont like either.

Pro Evo has always been my favourite but it has gone a bit crap the last two years. FIFA to me looks great graphically close up but from a distance not so much and the gameplay is too unrealistic. If Evo bring back the full editing options and get back to the basics, i would go for that. I just wish Konami would splash out a bit to rival FIFA for the rights to use official Premier League clubs, Kits etc.

FIFA 10 and Pro Evolution 2010 are both due for release on 2 October 2009.

You can download patches and that mate for the proper kits.

Not that I'd do anything too nerdy like that.

COME ON MERSEYSIDE BLUE.

For me, Pro Evo had the playability edge by some distance. I didn't care if Edgar Davids was called "Oranges 021" and Overmars was "Oranges 022" - it was still miles ahead of Fifa.

Fifa was too arcade, there would always be silly extras added on to market a new release, wierd things on free kicks etc.

I didn't play either for a good few years, I got Pro Evo 08 on the Xbox at Christmas though and its not the best. Its slow, players turn like tanks and common sense has gone out the window with a distinct lack of effort thrown in.

Fifa has deffinatly turned more realistic - the AI on players runs, one twos, and passing, ball control, is more realistic. Pro is faster and more fun than Fifa, has the right balance of arcade and realism. You cant really score 30yard screamers on Fifa when you can score some speccies on Pro. Not saying you cant do on Fifa (scored some class overhead kicks etc), but its harder on the last one - something they've improved on apparantly (you always hit the bar or post which they've said they've sorted).

I do think the defence has gotten rock hard on Pro nowdays, they stick to you like glue.

And as Chico says, few days or so someone does a edit you can download and stick on your computer with all the players and kits done.

I like the edits and tweaks. I got the new Everton kits on Pro Evo 09 and they look superb.

Ive always been a FIFA man but due to peaople raving about pro evo i picked up 08 for the ps2.

I hate it. My mates who i play fifa with hated it. It just seemed like a cheapo version of fifa. Which in respect to the teams it is but even the gameplay seemd kinda laggy.

And every time we shot it went over the bloody bar (apart from one time my keeper lifted his foot over the ball to let in a goal grrrr)

Maybe if i really gave it a chance it might be ok, must be something about for loads of people to love it but it wasn't for me.

That's what happens though. Playing them back to back you notice how different they are to play rather than them being the same, or one being better. Its about preference more than anything.

I hated the slowness of Fifa, the fact the plays cant get the ball straight away and run, its about control turn move etc etc, while Pro is fast paced, the shooting different etc etc.

I always say there's not one better than the other because they both play differently. The only similarites are some of the modes and the fact they're football games.

Sensi Soccer batters both of them to death though.(y)

Hate the shooting in Pro Evo. Can't stand it. Physics > Random Number Generator.

Slide tackling is well overpowered and all.

Soo right. The Xbox 360 yeah, could I just buy the bog standard 1 or if im gonna buy 1, do I buy the elite thingy. I might treat myself and buy 1, just for Fifa and Pro Evo.

I think it's far better than FIFA where it feels like you're player is kicking a penny floater...but that prefrence ain't it haha
