New from sunny south Florida

I am a new Everton fan.....I have followed LD's career since he came to Miami to play years ago, against the now defunct MLS Miami Fusion team. I was routing for the Fusion, when I saw this bleached blonde player with blazing speed come down the flanks. Even back then he outclassed everyone on the field.
Not an MLS fan and barely watch that league, but tune in when possible to the PL. Never had a favorite until now.
I hope he stays, he deserves more than the MLS. All the forums that I read over here, are almost unanimous in thinking that LD should stay where he is, Everton.
Heard Everton mentioned on ESPN and "Around the Horn" Sports Talk. Do you know how often soccer is discussed on these shows? Hardly ever. There is buzz here and it broken into the major media. You get those Football, basketball loving pundits to discuss soccer and, well that is a feat. I loved it!
Have your team come visit in the summer. The stadiums are packed with soccer fans here and the few teams that come are making a bundle. US soccer fans want to see the PL in action, and if LD is on the squad.....
Chelsea came over and sold out stadiums...This is one was in Texas, and yes, that was a US stadium and they were there to see soccer, not the Cowboys, and yes, all of the venues were like that. I also remember the Georgia soccer forum saying that their Georgia Dome was sold out.

welcome mate, we did actually cross the pond last summer, and managed for our troubles to win the M.L.S. CUP, a task that all the other challengers failed to complete.

Do not live in Miami, but Boca Raton, about 50miles north. Maiden last name Barry, so, I hardly think. Family tree goes back before the revolutionary war, and is all English, Irish and Scot.
The Cubans are into baseball, unless they have lived here a while, and then it's football. Few soccer players.
This area is a hotbed of soccer, lots of Latinos and Haitians. My son used to practice, and play with jozy Altidore for a few years. I watched him play since he was about 8.

I personally enjoy the MLS(Sounders supporter). I don't think every league is for everyone but I don't think some seem to remember that it isn't really old yet. It does continue to improve each season. Plus, we will have one of the best old school derbys starting in 2011 when the 3 team Northwest derby makes it's return.

I have found a home in the EPL. Going to buy my soccer playing son an Everton jersey regardless. Go Blues!
