Peacemaker

Player Valuation: £150k
Full declosure, I initially came to keep tabs on Nathan Patterson. I'm not a Rangers fan BTW, just a long suffering Scotland fan.

Probably joined this site as I've always had a soft spot for Everton, to be honest all the English underdog teams. Hard to believe for some but I remember when Man City were the underdogs in that City.

I grew up when successful English teams had four or five Scot's in them. Clough didn't have fewer than four in any of his teams that I remember.

In keeping with this site I would like to state the following.

Favourite Everton player: Stuart McCall or Duncan Ferguson. (Sorry can't split them)
Favourite Everton (non Scot) player: Neville Southall

I believe Nathan Patterson is a wonderful signing for Everton and will help him and Scotland (assuming he gets game time).

He is not the finished artical, who is at 20? I can say he has never looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights in the SPL, Europe or at Inernational level... what's not to like.

Hoping I spend some time here and have a bit of a laugh with you all :)

Welcome aboard, great to have you join us. I've heard good things about the young right back at Aberdeen, Ramsay, how highly do you rate him in comparison with Patterson?

He's younger and reasonably quick. Probably more of a traditional right back than Patterson. Hard to say if thats by preference or the role they have been given by the managers. He is getting some attention from the Old Firm, there is no doubt about that. Which is usually a good sign for a young Scottish player.

I watched the game tonight, if truth be told I was hoping to see Patterson being given a few minutes. I can say Everton looked distinctly nervous to me, there seemed to be a desire to shut the game down at 2-1. Which I found odd and really surprising. In the second half Coleman broke and passed it out wide left after carrying it some 30yds. After control and setting that wide player only had one option in the box. A missed opportunity which needs to be addressed if, as I'm reading on other threads, Coleman is quite slow.

Thanks for the welcome friend :)

Underdogs...when the best clubs had Scottish players?
I'm lost with your rhetoric.
Name your Scottish club mate.
Got allsorts on here.
Unless you're a rs lurker?
Patterson?
Match going gers fans know his potential and understand why he couldn't dislodge his captain.
I've heard great reports about him,not msm rubbish.
It's an expensive gamble, just glad we are looking over the border for once.

My 'rhetoric' was merely some background.

Not been a Scottish Club fan since the mid 70's, used to watch Clyde FC as they were local and various Junior teams.

In terms of going to matches, well that would be the National team, by some considerable margin. Hence my interest in Scottish players... no matter who they play for or where.

Unless you're a rs lurker?
Sorry I don't understand what rs is?

Patterson is, to my mind a probable Scottish International RB for the next decade... JMHO.

Sorry I don't see Patterson as a gamble at all, in the sense of current ability. If he gets game time Everton will not lose money on him. If I could bet money on that I would pal.

10 million, no add ons.
Better option and cheaper.
For Calvin Ramsay? Now that, I would suggest, is an expensive gamble at 10M. I'm not saying he isn't good or hasn't great potential, just he is younger with far less experience... and none at European and full International level.

Thanks for the welcome:D

The Bully Wee a great club .
Unfortunately when they moved it ruined the club.
Although a great win v a roy Keane inspired Celtic was brilliant.
As for following Scotland.
That wallpaper stuck yet?
