Southgate won loads against the likes of Albania, Finland and San Marino and rode his luck in one-off cup competitions (Slovakia, Netherlands). I haven't seen anything to suggest that he'd be any good playing teams of a similat level/ability on a regular basis
Exactly, Southgate got to the Euro 24 final beating only Serbia (ranked 32), Slovakia (ranked 41) and the Netherlands (ranked 7) while drawing with Slovenia (55), Denmark (21) and Switzerland (20).

England under Southgate were progressively more painful to watch despite having excellent players. With bad players he would be a disaster. Avoid at all costs.

I'm actually kinda warming to the idea of Mourinho yeno, as unlikely as it probably is.

I reckon the fans would like him (at least initially) and he'd be a wild ride either way  would probably be able to attract some decent players on his reputation alone n all..
Mourinho here and get Dele back on loan and we will be challenging for europe.

They very much do consider it a trophy trust me.

Also i take it you never spent much time looking into his time at roma did you?

Last two seasons spent €9m, sold €83m and spent €17m, sold €81m. Roma had the 3rd lowest net spend in the league for those two season's. He also signed 17 players under 25 out of 28 players he signed at roma.

what is his particular skill set? Hes a elite manager im sure he can get this lot too win 5 games out of 19.

Hes also just got roma to back to back European finals (never been done in Italian football) and won them their first trophy in 20 years?

Also first manager to win a European trophy with a Italian team since...he won the treble (first time any Italian side had won the treble). Also when he got sacked he was 5 pts of a CL spot and the roma fans absolutely loved him.

Strangely enough though there was a tax break in Italy for football clubs that was revoked just before Mourinho got sacked. Meaning he was going to cost TFG more money with his wages.

But yeah hes not elite and dyche would do a better job... either jose shagged your mrs or you're insane
Not the right guy for us. Leaves chaos behind.

It's set up to be Duncan with Wayne as his assistant, possibly Rhino as Fitness Coach and Stubbs as Nutritional Expert. Bring back Jeffers too as Young Development Officer (YDO), and why not extend an invitation to Rodwell as Head Physio? While we're at it, Jose Baxter would make a fine Careers Guidance Coach (CGC).
Our new CEO Denise Denise Barrett-Baxendale MBE is working on it now behind the scenes. She is taking guidance from her mentor via Senance to her Glorious Leader

Southgate would definitely take us to Wembley - not because we'd beat the big boys, but because he has an unerring knack of getting the softest draws imaginable all the way to the latter stages.

Of course, once there, he would then do a David Moyes, take a first-minute lead, spend the rest of the match defending, and lose agonisingly.

Someone who can deliver 'something' like Di Canio's short-term stint at Sunderland, is what we need.

Score some goals
Energise players (as Dyche did physically, but with football this time)
Connect with fans
Scrape prem survival
Leave promptly at 530pm last day of season end of season since they've done they're job but are demonstrably insane

No, he already refused to do it once before, preferring to manage the U21s and have the first team go down, not what we need

People considering Mourinho or Southgate just batsh1t crazy, I'd find it difficult to support the team if Southgate was appointed 🤣. I wanted that Portuguese guy who went to AC Milan, obvs that ship has sailed now

But he didn't cause chaos at spurs and roma or inter and porto. Places where hes just allowed to get on with his job without constant interference.

Look at the teams hes caused chaos at. Chelsea a club where the board constantly interferes and the players have a history of downing tools.

real madrid a club where the board constantly interferes and the players have a history of downing tools.

Chelsea again (see above)

United a club where the board constantly interferes and the players have a history of downing tools.

Look at Ancelotti when we got him his stock was on the floor. Massive falling outs at psg, Bayern and Napoli with both board and players. Bayern players famously saying that his training was so bad they used to go training in the park by themselves afterwards. Took Napoli from a team challenging for the league to a team outside of the CL spots.

He came here bought players 28+ on big wages and played some of the worst football ive ever seen and finished in the bottom half. But we were all excited and he won at Anfield, spurs and the emerits. We were 2nd at xmas and if it wasnt for some key injuries in the last 10 games we'd of easily gotten europe.

We'd all crawl on our bellies over broken glass with out flys undone to have Ancelotti back so why is there this snobbery about Mourinho?

I honestly think Mourinho is a better fit for us right now then Ancelotti is. If we could back him and come to a compromise regarding buying players (roma was mental, they gave him €130m his first season then nothing the following seasons and sold everyone around him) then i honestly believe he'd win us a trophy.

He didnt burn roma to the ground they loved him and he loved them he was literally sacked to save money.

Id say if he losea to pboro, hes done. If he wins he will remain.
Tonight's result will have no bearing on whether he stays or goes I believe the decision has already been made, it's just a case of whether the owners can get someone in now. Their hand has been forced they obviously wanted to wait till end of the season but that can't happen. Dyche is like a duck out of water now, his pre match press conference the other day showed that he is now aware of his fate. Some supporters felt he handled it well but I think he's an arrogant fool. When he answered the question about Carragher's criticism he turned it round and made it into a positive. No sympathy for him the football we have had to witness this season has been a disgrace.
