New manager

He also relegated Sunderland, was a dud at Sociedad and started Man Utd's decline. We need to look forward, not back.
Alex Ferguson started Man Utd's decline by covering for the Glazers. He allowed them to milk that business and let the squad fall into disrepair. They went from being European contenders to being unable to qualify from the group stages under Fergie. He milked his golden generation for all it was worth. Remember, Scholes had to come out of retirement to help them win that last title.

Weird. So you having a hissy fit about someone not being grateful enough to David Moyes for regular wins in the 7th place trophy and not wanting him as our future manager was not borne of loyalty? My mistake. What was it based on? Love? Fraternity? The interconnectedness of all things? Please, enlighten me, oh mature one.
No problem youth. It was borne out of an acknowledgement of what came for 10 years before Moyes and what has come afterwards. I don't like revisionism. If someone said Salah is a [Poor language removed] player and I said that's ridiculous do you think I would be doing so out of loyalty? Not sure where I threw a hissy fit. Think that's projection because it upsets you when people are not as loyal to Everton as you want them to be. You'll grow out of it eventually.

Yeah, but there are strong mitigating factors at each job. Man Utd were at the end of the road as a squad and his record is decent compared to the managers who followed. Woodward was a dreadful CEO who ran that club into the ground. He didn't adapt to Sociedad, but kept them up in a relegation fight. He wanted to be a manager in a head coach model. Sunderland were basically in administration when he joined and they had been circling the drain for years. Stupid job to take.
OK. So plenty of failures on his CV so.
He'd probably make us solid.
But wouldn't progess us. Did a fairly good job when here. Embarrassed himself with comments and after what transpired with United also .
Part of our history. Not our future

Lol. I'm going to guess that I'm older than you (and if not, then you are quite the old geezer). Nobody said he was [poor language removed], they just didn't want him here because he did us dirty. That was when you very much did have a hissy fit. I couldn't care less about loyalty, every staff member at Everton is an employee, nothing more. The fans are different, of course, and are loyal to the club, how else can you explain sold out stadia in our current situation? I personally couldn't care less about David Moyes, if he was the best man for the job, bring him on. But he's not, is he? So, that combined with him burning his bridges makes it a perfectly reasonable opinion to hold that he should not be our next manager. Unless, of course, you want to have another "episode"?

😂 Apologies, I assumed based on your comprehension skills that your intellect wasn’t fully developed. My mistake. Carry on.

Really? He had West Ham performing at close to the level he built us up to, so he has recent proven success. His lowest finish was 13th but he won the Conference League. Outside that he had 6th, 7th and 9th. The latter ninth place finish, last season, was after they had their best first half to the season and the board cut his legs from under him by selling many squad players in January when they were in the latter stages of the Europa League, were sixth in the table and had just beaten Arsenal twice.

So who are the better candidates? That's what I am struggling to grasp.

I see you failed to address the bit about his comments after he left and how he was flashing his bloomers and meeting united while still here .
Anyway no point discussing. You would replace your missus with him . Blind loyalty..which you are entitled to

There's literally a thread about this, mate, with dozens of suggestions. I get that you're a David Moyes fanboy but you can't really think that a 61 year old former manager is the future of this club, can you?
A three to five year stint to lay foundations then a move to DOF or something like that seems pretty reasonable. It's not like managers tend to stay at a club longer than three years nowadays. Heck, the average in the Premier League is probably a couple at best.

Yeah, no thanks. Look forward, not back. I can't deal with another expectation lowering manager after Dyche. I just really want some optimism, for a change.

His comments should be water off a ducks back. What he said about the regime was pretty accurate. He had many players sold from under him during his time, yet still managed to build a good, competitive squad and team. Ironically, his comments screwed up his deal as it annoyed so many people. Even Bill didn't have the brass neck to sell after the fallout.

And having meetings with United while still our manager..no issues there either

Not really. He had, what, six months on his contract? The club had failed time and again to support him due to financial constraints. Who wouldn't take the opportunity to manage one of the biggest teams in Europe? Carlo gets less stick for it than Moyes but was far more disloyal. Moyes gave many of the best years of his career to Everton and turned down many approaches during that time.
