A boring subject matter maybe, i painted this for my father, a master stonemason, in his opinion this building has the best stonework he's seen, i'd already painted a few other old buildings for him and he wanted this one to complete his collection.
This building was originally a 'Workhouse', the older members on here will know what that is but for everybody else it was a place ( during the late decades of the 1800's and early years of the 1900's ) for unmarried women who fell pregnant, the old who fell on hard times or if you were destitute and had nowhere to else to go.
After that it became a local hospital, until the 70's i think, now it is a community clinic.
I'll try and post a few more of the 'Buildings' drawings later.
