...I'll be out at lunch time for my normal Saturday bucket full of Guinness and watching the horse racing with my pals in the pub. I won't be out tonight.

Not that bothered tbh. On holiday with the missus and the mother-in-law. They had a row this afternoon (caused entirely by MiL), who waited until I was putting out rubbish before having a go at my missus. I came back to find my missus upset and MiL sitting in silence reading the paper, as if nothing had happened.

We agreed to come away with her as a favour, as she'd booked the apartment we're in last year but wasn't able to go. As no-one else was willing to come with her, we agreed as we felt a bit lousy for her. This is a decision I've come to regret, obviously.

We're booked in for a meal at a local restaurant at 7:30 - MiL disappeared earlier and left a note saying she'll be back at 6:30.

So, in short - my NYE will be a bad atmosphere, meal out and a few beers. Hope all of you have a better one than mine!

Nobody else seems to do this. I do.
Bothers me every year.

Decided to have a quiet one this year as had a busy couple of weeks so put the children to bed, curry, some beers and a good film.

Hopefully I'll reach midnight but if I don't then no great loss as at least I'll feel fresh tomorrow.
